 | Hands Up #4 |
Did you ever meet an actor from the StarWars Movies and did you get an autograph, Raise Your Hands and tell us about your experience.
* raises(three) hand(s)*
I once met Richard LeParmentier( Admiral Motti in ANH) got his autograph and talk to him for a few seconds.
Last year Kenny Baker(R2D2) was at a big collectors convention in Holland, I got his autograph, took some pictures.
He is a really nice guy. As a complete surprise to me there was also a very tall SW actor at this convention, it was Michael Kingma( Tarfful in ROTS)
I got his autograph and as a bonus the poster he signed it on already had Peter Mayhew's autograph on it. It was two for the price of one.
All comments are welcome, let us know what actors you've met and what it was like.
Remember, The Force Will Be With You................Always.
PS Thank you all for you support and help convincing my class mates StarWars is cool, If you missed it here is a link

To be honest, I've never met anyone who is supposed to be famous, so unfortunately never a Star Wars actor or one from the crew either. It must be so cool to meet Kenny Baker or so. He was a most important part of all six movies. Unfortunately you never got to meet Peter Mayhew, but having his autograph instead isn't that bad. It's far more than I have.

your time will come, maybe this year or next year one of them will find their way to Holland again.
If I hear anything about such an event I will let you know.

No, I haven't met any Star Wars cast or crewmember. But maybe in CIV, I can meet a lot of SW celebrities. Or maybe my dad's friend who has a Japanese restaurant near Hollywood can get their autographs for me. You never know who goes into his restaurant. Last year his wife told me that Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz and Hilary Duff came. Not big fans, but hey! They're celebrities,

I've met Ray Park (really nice), Peter Mayhew (Spelled my name wrong, what would you expect from a wookiee?), Michael Carter (he wrote Die Wanna Wanga on my pic), Jeremy Bulloch (he wrote 'stay cool' - how cool is that?) and Anthony Daniels (this was just before EP1 and he wouldn't tell me any secrets ) I also have Kenny Baker's autograph on a plastic R2...
Anthony Daniels was very cool - while we were waiting in line, he would come out and joke with us. At one point he tried to get in line and the guy he was butting in front of said "Oi, get to the back!" - He had no idea what Anthony looked like - lol.

Now I am depressed.
Don't worry! I'm sure you'll meet one...even though it's an infinitesimal chance. Well, actually, even smaller than that. The odds are...well...3750 to 1. Actually, you have to factor in how many cities there are, how many actors you could possibly meet, how many movies/jobs they are doing, and how many bottles of water you've consumed in the past week. So in the end, you'll probably never meet one. Are you feeling better?

My computer was a little awkard, and I tripple-posed!!!!! Don't know how that happened.
I'm sorry, I only meant to single post. It made sound obsessed, didn't it?
The odds are...well...3750 to 1.
There's a difference to odds and chance. The CHANCE of meeting a celeb is 3750 to 1, but the odds are larger, since I can go to a convention. There's always celebs on large conventions so
But what are the odds of me going to a big convention?

I was inadvertently in Leicester Square for the Phantom Menace premiere and I saw Kenny Baker. Didn't meet him, just saw him.
I found a neat tool-Google Earth
I love Google Earth! The buggers smudged the area where my house is, though. How inconsiderate.

I beg to differ. Odds and chance are very much alike in my world. The odds of having a chance meeting whilst counting on the odds to bring you luck, or chance if you will, are based on the odds of you having a chance to go to a city where the star is staying be chance. So, you see, by any chance, it all comes to a complete circle of odds and chance.

Hey, Jedimca0, that is waaaay cool! I love hearing other fans' accounts of meeting actors/actresses/crew members associated with SW!
I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Hamill a few years ago (and even got to have my picture taken with him! . . . Luke is my favorite SW character, so this was a special treat for me!) when he was promoting "Walk Across Egypt" (in which he had a small role). After the film, he led a "question 'n answer" session. I've been fascinated with his voice over career, so I asked him a couple of questions about that.
Have you read his graphic novel, Black Pearl? He's multi-talented!!

My point is that if I really wanted to, I could seek out SW actors. But if I sat around assuming that one would show up eventually, I could be in for a long wait. So you are correct, from a certain point of view.

You guys know Mark Hamill has a role in the cartoon "Metalocalypse"? No? Well, his name is on the ending credits toghether with the other voice actors. I don't think the cartoon has been published yet, and it's not for kids.

I've met Chewbacca and R2-D2. Not the actors... the actual Wookiee and droid. That was a strange day.

That was a strange day.
That must have been the same day my gravity was reversed and I had to spend the whole time doing a handstand on the roof.
