 Hey guys!
Sorry I haven't been around in what feels like a millennia, school has been really busy, and I have so many things on my plate, but anyway....
My year's been going well since September, hope all of yours have too.
I'm in a marching band, and we are going down to NYC for the Columbus Day parade on October 9th, watch tv and you might see me, though I have absolutely no way of knowing when we'll be on.
I'll let you know how the parade is in a future blog, wish me luck! I'm going to need it, we go from 79th to 42nd street, and I have to play and carry the saxophone the whole time. Should be a lot of fun though.
As some of you know, I'm a Giants fan, to any other fans out there we got to root for them, that last game was pitiful.
I also LOVE the Mets, so I'll be rooting for them 100% to win the series. There'd better not be any Yankee fans out there........
Just one last thing, just curious, have any of you heard of the classical pianist family called the 5 Browns? They play 5 pianos at a time, and all of them are like 20-30 years old. I'm going to see them tomorrow, should be awesome.
That's it for now, I'll try to get some regular blogs up soon, I'm having trouble thinking of something.
Also, because I've been out for so long, if anyone has a blog that they or anyone else wrote, please give me the link and I'd love to read it. Thanks!

You're in the marching band? Awesomest! Good luck in NYC, ya heard?
I really don't like the Giants, or any other California baseball teams not in the LA area. I'm a big Dodgers & Angels fan! The Dodgers are almost to the playoffs! Yea ya!
As for the Mets, they're better than the Yankees, but tough break on Pedro's injury.
And I've never heard of the 5 Browns, bu they sound interesting.

No apologies necessary, cbern! I know what it's like to be busy now that school is back is session - being on the "other" side (as a teacher) is just as overwhelming as it is for the student - trust me!
How exciting that you are getting that opportunity! I absolutely loved being in marching band when I was in high school - I still play my flute daily if you can believe it (SW music only, of course)!
As far as the 5 Browns, can't help you out there - sorry...but it sounds awesome! The only Browns I see around these parts are the Cleveland Browns *choke, puke, gag*....! LOL!!

The Browns...never heard of them. Let me know how the concert turns out and if they have any cd's available. I LOVE piano music. And... May The Force Be With You always, too.

Very cool about the Matching Band in NYC, cbern. I'll have to tell my son, the tuba player!

ami, good guess, that's correct, that's Latin. The 5 Browns do have cds out, I'm not sure what the titles are, but if you search amazon, you could probably find them

Hey! Glad to see you're back, now I can wander over here during my daily rounds!!
Marching band.... aahh.... um..... well.... *ahem* as an oboist I don't get to play in any, in high school I just played flute in our marching band. Our college, though, did not have a marching program - I think mostly becuase our music program was conservatory so we classical snobs don't do that stuff. There was a pep band, though, but that was for non-majors.
Anyway, have a great time! What's the name of the group you'll be marching with? My bro lives in NYC, I'll have him wear a SW shirt or something!!!

wish i had known!!! not a fan of columbus or his 'day' but def. would have checked out yr performance!!!
still love the mets, gotta love the underdog, always (hey, after all, i'm a fan of the rebel alliance!!!), but it's still kinda hard reading this in retrospect !!! 
hope to see/hear more soon big guy, enjoy school while it lasts, for as happy bunny says ... 'school prepares you for the real world, which also sucks!'
