2 Star Wars Fun Facts
Hello Star Wars bloggers! Finally, I have a Star Wars related blog, feels like a year since I last wrote one.

This entry is two pronged, both of which are completely unrelated and I came up with the ideas quite differently.

The first is a strong compliment to Steve Perry for his incredible work on Shadows of the Empire. I am currently rereading this for the second time, and I remembered that I wanted to write a blog on this when I first read, though I didn't get to that. I won't share any real plot secrets, in case some of you have not read, in which case, I recommend you go right now to Amazon.com and purchase the book. You can get used and new for a very cheap price. (That's where I got my copy).

In Shadows of the Empire, the center point of the story really is Luke, because the whole story revolves around him. However, the main character I would have to say if Prince Xizor, Dark Prince of Black Sun and third most powerful man in the galaxy. I have to say that he is one of my favorite characters of all time that I have encountered in my EU travels. Cool, cunning, planning, very interesting to read about. Plus, his lack of care of money. All in all, 5 out of 5 stars, recommend to all.

Second part came about while I was doing a bit of history related to the Enlightenment period of the 1700s. I came upon a German romantical poet, named Johan von Goethe, who invented a new style of romantic poetry. In English, the translation is storm and stress. In German, Strum and Drang. Now, as soon as I read this, I thought, "I've seen that before. Right?" Yes, I have. Strum and Drang are Talon Karrde's two pet vornskrs. This was one of the first connections I had found in a long time from the real historical world to the GFFA one. Cool huh?

That's it for today, but look for my next entry coming soon, the report on my trip to Disney! Tons of great rides, and extra Star Wars fun.

God bless! MTFBWY!

Welcome back, cbern! It's so nice to hear from you again, you've been missed.

Shadows of the Empire, eh? I've been meaning to read this, really, actually a lot of LILWA friends have pushed it, and I have yet to do so. I will make a point to do so now, thanks. Just finished reading Tatooine Ghost, it was AMAZING! It connected so many things between the PT and OT, just fascinating.

I look forward to your Disney blog, again, good to hear from you! ~Angel~

happy reading! and btw, many psychologists refer to adolescence as the period of Strum and Drang, because of all of the upheaval a person's psyche endures while they are forming their own identity, etc.

Also in the 4th Harry Potter book, one of the schools is named Durmstrang. So decide for yourself, did J.K. Rowling intend for the german referance, or did she get inspired by Zahn? I think it's alittle from column A and alittle from column B.
