Crimson Empire 1 and 2...
I was very skeptical at first to get into this series. I had gone through a couple other Star Wars comics before the Crimson Empire series, and it really did nothing for me. I had slight enjoyment with them, but it really didn't make me feel like I was reading about the same galaxy Luke and friends had made so great. Yes, I do love other EU that have nothing to do with the Original or Prequel trilogies, but I never felt that great about it with the comics.
So basically, this was like the last time I would buy EU comics if I didn't enjoy it.
The story is of a former royal guard to the Emperor. It takes place after the original trilogy. I don't really want to give too much away, but I'm sure that most people will enjoy the stories...especially if you love the royal guards.
The illustrations are really great. I can't really explain it, but it's not extremely stylized, but it gets the job done.
Yea...not a lot more I can say about this...except that I know that it has been out for a loooong time, and that a lot of people either have read it, or don't care...
Well, if you get a chance to read this...I recommend that you do. Both of the "episodes" are great. And thanks to these two graphic novels, I will be getting back into Star Wars comics...so...yea...pick this collection up.

Did not quite like the art this much...I recommend Dark Empire, epecially volume 1, feels like a movie and you learn aout Luke and Leia and Han afer ROTJ!!!

Far superior, still the best SW comic ever!!!

The art wasn't that great in this series, but it's, essentially, what got me back into Star Wars. I watched the movies when I was a kid but it wasn't until I saw the first issue of this comic and the absolutely awesome idea of a rampaging Royal Guardsman (I always loved those guys) that I picked it up. Kir Kanos is a wonderful character and I hope he pops back up in the EU sometime.
