Forgive me Father, it's been 4 weeks since my last confession .... for some reason I have not felt very "bloggy" lately.

I've been thinking about the next evolution in Star Wars being television. We have the new animated Clone Wars CGI series coming up which is okay by me. It will tide me over until the REAL series which will be the live action series.

You know one of three things will happen ... the live action series will either be as good as the movies were ... they won't be as good as the movies were .... or they will surpass the movies and be more popular than anything we have seen on TV for the Sci-fi genre.

With something like Star Wars it is possible. Lets face it, Star Trek is not as big as Star Wars yet had/has a good chunk of the Sci-fi genre series for years.

They had a TV series first THEN the movies and then MORE TV series which for the most part all did okay.

We know almost all Sci-fi shows are cancelled after 2 seasons. It is just a fact.

What will the new Star Wars TV shows do? Will we finally have a fantastic live action series set to debut in 2009? Will the animated Clone Wars series do so well that it will continue longer than planned? After all there is only so much Clone Warring possible in the Star Wars time frame that it takes place in.

I will be interested to see how fast the time line moves in the first few shows to try and gauge what the producers are up to as far as future plans for the series.

As for the live action series .... I have waited all of my life for it and honestly thought about it when I was 9 seeing Star wars in 1977 for the first time. I thought of this because I was only able to see Star Wars a couple of times a week in the theater and realized how cool it would be to see a TV series right on my TV.

I hope beyond hopes that they get it right and I am pretty sure they will. They have already mentioned the live action series as taking place between Episodes III and Episode IV. There was a poster I saw a picture of online from Celebration 4 that had Boba Fett's helmeted face on the front and clearly referenced the live action series for 2009. I have searched for that darned picture and am kicking myself for not rick click saving as the darned thing. The top portion mentioned the animated cgi series and the bottom of the poster the live action series.

To say the least I am really stoked. No doubt our beloved actor who played Jango will be playing Boba. The internet movie data base already lists the show as untitled and credits Anthony Daniels as one of the actors playing C-3PO of course.

I figure at the very worst of what can possibly happen is that the TV series stinks ... which it won't. We would still have the classic movies and the prequels anyway.

If the tv series are successful we will see more Star Wars films that are the offspring of the TV series we will see. Much like Star trek "the franchise" will long outlive us I am sure. I mean really it's "Star Wars" for crying out loud.
