Hello, my name is Mirax7. Even though I've been officially registered on sw.com since 2000, I never bothered with the boards until May of last year, when I wanted to find out what true fans' reactions were to ROTS. At first, I was just going to read the entries, but then I had to respond to unfounded assertions that ROTS had plot loopholes. From there, I was sucked into the debate over whether or not Padme really died at the end of the movie. I really don't get around much at all on the boards, but I have made some wonderful friends and I do enjoy myself quite a bit.
Now for the obligatory "How I Became a Star Wars Fan." I am too young to have originally seen the OT in theaters, so unfortunately I can't say I've been around since the beginning. Growing up, we had very few movies in the house (my parents still don't ever buy movies). But one of them was ANH taped from TV. I can't say that I watched it all the time, but I did watch it quite a bit. However, I did not become a true fan until high school, when I discovered the EU. At the point, what I think of as the original five were out (Truce at Bakura, Courtship of Princess Leia, and Timothy Zahn's original trilogy). I know there are other books from the early 1980s, but the EU didn't really take off until the five I listed came out. From that point, I was hooked. I love reading and the fact that SW was in printed form is just wonderful to me. I think I would still be a SW fan if there were no books, but I don't think I would be into the universe near as much. Now, over ten years later, I look forward to new books with just as much anticipation, if not more.
So, that's just a little bit about me. That's all for now. May the force be with you.
Are you happy now? I wrote a blog. (If this statement applies to you, you know who you are.
