Why Do We Love SW?
Hello everyone!

The other day, another one of my friends asked me why I like SW so much. Usually I just roll my eyes and ignore the person asking, but since this person was a good friend, I wanted to tell them (even though I try to tell them all the time...).

Then, to my surprise, I couldn't explain why to them. I know why I love SW so much, but I couldn't seem to put it into words. I didn't want to not be able to explain, but I just couldn't! I was, quite frankly, annoyed with myself.

Do other people have this problem? Are other people not able to express why they love SW so much? Or is it just me? (which is probably the most logical answer.)

I know that I love SW for the story, the characters, etc., but I can't go into specifics. The best I can do is that I love it because the story is so powerful and important in society. The relationships between the charcters are so real and tragic that it makes it a movie unlike any other. But that can't be the whole reason of why I like it so much... can it?

So let me hear your thoughts! I am in serious need of support here!

OMG, it's not just you! I've never had to verbalize it before. It's just always BEEN. You know what I mean. Holy cow, why the heck DO I love SW?

You're gonna make me think. I'll get back to you.

Haha, I COMPLETELY understand! I mean, Star Wars is chock full of bad acting and corny dialogue and yet it manages to be a heart wrenching meaningful story. I guess I probably like SW because it's a timeless saga of love, loyalty, heroism, and morals. There are plenty of other stories like it written in all ages that are timeless as well. You know, people might think it's cliche, but I think it's just the type of story humankind likes!

I totaly agree. It is hard to explain. I like Star Wars because of so many things. The emotions the story, the acting(yes I said acting), and even the dialogue.I like the whole thing. To put it simply the Star Wars gnaws at my soul and fills me with passion.

The same thing happens to me. Someone asks me what's so great about Star Wars and all that I say is,
"It-- I mean, of COURSE I love it, it's-- why wouldn't I-- you see, it's-- it has, like... lightsabers in it."
Which doesn't sound all that impressive on paper (or in words). You can't really explain in, but it sure is incredible.

Maybe it is the lightsabers...
