The Weaponry of SW - Part II
Hello everyone!

Just in case you missed Part I, here's a brief overview of what's going on here.... I'm making an alphabetical list of almost all (okay... maybe just a lot of) the weaponry of Star Wars. I'm getting my info from the Databank, Wiki/Wookie-pedia, and the New Essential Chronology. Well, here's Part II!

The Geonosian sonic blaster (Ep. II) made its first appearance in the Battle of Geonosis (22 B.B.Y.), where they were used against the Jedi and the Grand Army of the Republic. They emit large sonic beams that 'explodes' when it hits its target.

The Gungan energy catapult (Ep. I) was used by the Gungan Grand Army during the Battle of Naboo (32 B.B.Y.). It catapults large blue balls of energy, or "boomas", which fry electronics, such as droids. These catapults were grown in the city of Otoh Gunga, and are made up of though hornweed.

The Heavy ion cannon (Ep. V) was used by the Rebel Alliance during the Battle of Hoth (3 A.B.Y.) to disable the Empire's Star Destroyers in space. These cannons can be set up in a matter of hours, and its power reactor is usually hidden from sight about 40 metres below the barrel.

The Heavy repeating blaster (Ep. V) is an Imperial weapon used by Snowtroopers. It is a mobile, assemble-when-needed weapon that sits upon a shock resistant base. This heavy blaster has a firing range of 400 metres, and costs 5000 credits each.

The HH-15 projectile launcher (EU - Star Wars: Battlefront, video game) is a Rebel Alliance over-the-shoulder missile launcher. It can fire anything from concussion missiles to small proton torpedoes. Since the HH-15 projectile launcher does not have advanced targeting systems, the Rebels are forced to 'eye-ball' their targets.

The name of the HX2 antipersonnel mine (EU - Star Wars: Battlefront, video game) pretty much explains itself. These are proximity mines that were used widely by the Clone Troopers (especially the ARC Troopers) of the Galactic Republic. They contain detonite, which gives the mines their explosive power.

The Jawa blaster (Ep.'s I, IV, VI) is used to disable droids, and is cannibalized from other components, such as starship wreckage and other blasters. These weapons are not very reliable, and they have an extremely small range.

The Kamino Saberdart (Ep. II) is used by bounty hunters and mercenaries alike, and uses a range of poisons to kill their victims. One of the more common poisons used is Sennari. Kamino Saberdarts usually kill their victims in 10 seconds or less.

The Lightsaber (Ep.'s I-VI, EU). Need I say anything? Definitely the most well known in-universe weapon of the Saga, if not of any film. GFFA wise, however, the story is a bit different. Not everyone recognizes the lightsaber in the GFFA. The lightsaber handle is about 30 centimetres long, and the blade is about a metre long, when extended. The blade is formed from Adegan crystals, and ancient lightsabers had to be connected to a belt power pack with a cable.

The MiniMag PTL missile launcher (EU - Star Wars: Battlefront, video game) was widely used by the Galactic Empire, and is best-suited for firing proton torpedoes (as per PTL). The PTL missile launcher is only capable of firing in a straight line, due to its antiquated origins.

The Portable missile launcher (EU - Star Wars: Clone Wars, TV cartoon) was used by both the Grand Army of the Republic and Imperial Stormtroopers. Much like the MiniMag PTL missile launcher, the PML fires only in a straight line, and is an over-the-shoulder weapon that is capable of destroying an AAT.

Like always, comments are very welcome! Watch out for Part III!

May the Force be with You, and Happy 30th Anniversary!

More great info. It is hard to believe some in GFFA did not know what a lightsaber was, because when we think of Star Wars one of the first thing we think of is lightsabers. And the story I guess. And characters like Darth Maul. And of course Aayla Secura and Padme. Yep Aayla and Padme. Sorry, or am I?

As always, thanks for all the comments!

No worries... its the same for all of us, man!!

I did'nt know was that the Gungan Catapult was grown
No, me neither. I thought that was really cool. It (I think the Databank, but I can't really remember) said that most of the Gungan weaponry was grown, not just the catapult.

Fantastic lists!
Thank you very much, GB! Much appreciated! I've put a lot of work into this... it's nice to get praise!

Thanks again, MTFBWY, and Happy 30th Anniversary!
