Hello again!
As we all know, Hallowe'en is coming up again (in only three short days - can you believe it?!), and I've decided not to go out this year. That's okay though - I'm going to be handing out candy at my neighbour's who is on vacation at the moment. I'll still feel like I'm part of the fun, even though I'm not out on the streets, dressed up. I feel like I've grown out of it, even though I'm still pretty young.
I think a part of me will miss not finding some cool new way to portray a SW character for a couple hours every year. I've been many characters over the years, including Yoda and C-3PO. It's been lots of fun, but I want to let some of the younger kids have their go - it's actually pretty cool just seeing all the costumes!
And that's precisely the upside to staying home, handing out candy - seeing all the cool costumes! Last year, I gave out candy at my own house, and it was amazing to see how many kids were dressed up as SW characters (I even got a Vulcan Jedi!!). But this year, I'm afriad that the number of kids dressing up as SW characters is going to drastically decrease, simply for the reason that since the movies are finished, SW costumes aren't going to be made as much. I have a feeling that only the diehard fans (like us) are going to be SW characters, because they have the patience to take the time and make a costume themselves.
(Going a little bit off the topic of costumes...) I really like carving pumkins for Hallowe'en. I think it's the best part of the whole night. It allows you to be so creative and unique. I love seeing the variety of pumkins - from simple, simple faces to extravagant haunted houses or people. I always do really cool ones (in my opinion), and people always comment on how great they look (not to
brag, or anything...)
For example, this year I'm doing the devil's face and a witch's face. Last year I did a gravestone with hands coming out of the ground. I've been trying to design my own SW carving, but I haven't been able to come up with any really good ones. But hopefully I'll have a super cool one for next year. If you guys have any suggestions for what you think would be a really great pumkin carving, let's hear it! I really want to carve one that people will instantly say, "Wow! That's a Jedi!" or "Cool! That's Yoda!" (I've been trying to design a Yoda, but none really seem right.)
One more thing - take the time to actually
notice the pumkins! Lots of people don't seem to appreciate them - as if they're just there. Some people (like me) put a lot of time into them! Just be aware of them and notice them!
Well, I guess that's enough for one day. Just remember to have lots of fun on Hallowe'en night... and don't get
too scared!!
