My CIV Experience
Hello everyone!

I know it's been over two months since CIV, but I've been busy and haven't had time to report! But I guess it's better late than never! So here goes...

The long line on the first day was tiring, and seemed to go on forever, as everyone who stood in it well knows, but it was deffinitely worth it - I got to talk to a bunch of people around me, and Anthony Daniels walked by and talked to everyone, which was extremely awesome.

My first day was jam-packed with good times... I did the Lucasfilm Archives Exhibit (in which I blew about 50 pictures, it seems... there was so much to look at!), the Vader Helmets (which was hilarious and intriguing at the same time), the Autograph, Main Exhibit, and Fan Fair Halls, and the Droid Builders Room. I got Ray Park's and Kenny Baker's autographs, adding to my collection from CIII... both of the guys were very nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there. But I had barely scratched the surface of the massive LA Convention Centre, as I would learn on the next day.

Friday started with my Dad and I not standing in line, but waiting out in front of the doors, taking pictures of and admiring the amazing, amazing costumes. It was incredible! Once the doors opened, we saw the One-Man SW Tri. and SW in 30 Min's, both of which I highly suggest you see, at all costs - they were absolutely hilarious!! I laughed nearly the whole time!

Then was the highlight of both Fri and the convention as a whole... Carrie Fisher!! Listening to her speak is amazing, and especially being in that huge room filled with thousands and thousands of fans was incredible. Then I asked her a question, and now I can officially brag to my friends and everybody I meet that "I spoke to Princess Leia... really!!" Although it took a while for that statement to fully sink in for me, it was deffinitely an amazing experience that I will never, ever forget.

The Opening Ceremonies that night were fantastic, and after we got in and got seated (following nearly not getting in at all due to that silly "suspicious package" bomb threat), we were buffeted with speaker after amazing speaker, mixed with the 501st, GL (two versions... wow...), and so much more! It was deffinitely worth waiting in line and staying awake in that dark room for!

Another highlight was signing the fan dedication boards, which were absolutely full of thanks, stories and pictures. I honestly don't think one more person could have signed it! It felt really cool to be able to have my name and my thanks put up there, beside similar messages from fans all over the world. Awesome.

Yet another really cool thing was the Bloggers Dinner, put on by the amazing DJ Maul. I left early, but the time I spent there was amazingly fun. I'm glad I got the chance to put some faces to the people who write the words I read nearly every day. I had lots of fun. Thanks again!

Besides all that, I saw Ben Burtt, filmmakers from the OT, a Publishing panel, SW Laser Tag, and so, so much more. There was so much to do, and I don't think anyone could have done it all. Despite the fact that I wasn't there for the whole time (I was present from Thurday to Saturday), I was overwhelmed with the amount of things to experience and do. I will absolutely remember those three days for the rest of my life.

So with that, May the Force be with you, and Happy 30th Anniversary!
{I'll see you at Celebration V!};

Glad you had fun. I had a great time. However I got in Saturday and by the time we got to the convention center it was like 1:00. I had so much fun. Something funny happened to me. I got Ray Oarks autographs (cuz Darth Maul rocks) so i went to see his interview while my dad went to see the 1 man SW show. After the show my dad said before he went to the show he saw and talked to Ray Park in a bathroom. I was so jealous. But yeah it felt like home. So how was your summer?

I got to the meet and greet rather late, so I must have missed you. Bummer! But I'll try to be on time for CV. Great report!

Thanks for the comments!

I have to agree with you, dm517, that Maul does, in fact, rock! I wanted to go to his show, but I did something else instead... I forget what (I'd have to get out the schedule). And that's so cool that your Dad got to talk to Park! Awesome!

And yes, Stooge, we did miss each other. I was pretty bummed that I didn't get to meet the famous Stooge, but my Dad and I were both tired, and he wanted to get back to the hotel... but oh well! There will always be another chance!

MTFBWY, and thanks again!
