Hello everyone!
So now that school is finally out, I've found the time to come back to Star Wars! Exams restricted my time for the EU, and I haven't watched a movie in ages... that's what summer is for, though!
I just finished Legacy of the Force last week, and I was incredibly happy with it. I loved how it turned out, especially with the epic confrontation between Jaina and Caedus/Jacen. The series started with Jacen trying to protect the ones he loved, and I was glad to see that despite all the terrible things he did, he was trying to protect Allana and Tenel Ka at the end. It was nice to think that he had that little bit of good left in him despite the horrfic time he had instigated.
Going into the series, I was mostly looking forward to
Sacrifice, but I found the beginning of it very slow. I knew the ending of the book, and that might have contributed to my feelings, but I was happy to see that mid-book the story definitely picked up. Mara's death was a hard one for me (she was my favourite character), so that was a hard ending to read. I was happy to see her come back and be able to say her final goodbyes to both Ben and Luke (the ending of Fury, I believe, when Mara found Luke in the tent next to Ben was possibly the best ending of a book I've ever read).
Having finished the books, my favourites were
Inferno and
Invincible, with the latter coming out on top. I was very pleased with most of the resolutions, but I was kind of disappointed for Mirta and Fett because of their exile from Mandalore.
I must say that as great as LOTF was, I enjoyed The New Jedi Order more. I found NJO to be always amazing, and I thought it was more engaging overall. That said, I am so eager to read Fate of the Jedi, which I am going to wait for the paperback releases to read.
I started to read
Path of Destruction a few days ago, and I am thoroughly enjoying it - I'm surprisingly excited to be reading about this time period which I wasn't sure if I would enjoy. I bought
Rule of Two the other day, so I can start it right after I'm done Path, and I bought the Coruscant Nights Trilogy as well. That leaves me with about 15 unread Star Wars books on my shelf.
It's going to be a fun summer!!
May the Force be with you, Always!
