About me and this blog!
I'm a Star Wars fan/collector/fic writer/essayist/historian/philosopher/activist/all-around addict. I've been sold on the saga since I first saw ANH as a youngling at the Valley Circle Theater in San Diego, CA, one of the first 32 theaters to show the film. Through the years I have published two SW fanzines, Blue Harvest and Snowfire; written piles of fan fiction; volunteered at the original Star Wars Magic of Myth exhibit in Washington, D.C.; and even participated in a fan documentary. I ran a small site called Rebel Heart that's sort of on hiatus and I also have a blog on LiveJournal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lazypadawan). Several of my essays are on the Anakin Skywalker Homepage and on Saga Journal.com.

I don't have a favorite SW film per se, though if you put a blaster to my head I would say that ANH and AOTC are particularly special to me and ROTS has a fair argument to being the best of the bunch. But that's neither here nor there...I think they are all great movies and I consider myself a fan of the saga as a whole. My favorite characters are Anakin Skywalker and Princess Leia, which I guess says something about my temperament. I'm also very big on Padmé, Obi-Wan, Han, and Luke, though I have a certain amount of affection for all of the characters.

I'm particularly interested in the psychological/mythical/philosophical/spiritual underpinnings of the saga. A big part of what makes SW cool is that it can tackle heavy issues and still be fun. So some of my essays will focus on that. I will also have thought-provoking, hard hitting, take-no-prisoners editorials as well as narratives of true-life SW adventures.

In real life, I live in SoCal and work for the county DA's office, in between fannish activities and contemplating writing an original screenplay or novel.
