Is That All There Is?
I had a cool post all ready to go with my theories as to what the "secret entertainment extravaganza" of 2007 might be.  Then someone directed me to this link:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705550p1.html

Folks, it looks like this is a video game.  A quite advanced one with a lot of secrecy, but a video game nonetheless.  I'm sure this is great news for people who enjoy that sort of thing, but I don't play video games, so my reaction is "whoop-di-doo."

This does seem like an awful lot of hype for just a video game, so perhaps there's more to it than that.  Otherwise, does starwars.com expect this gal with poor eye-hand coordination to get all excited about this?  Or anyone else who doesn't play video games?  Luckily for them I'm not hinging on this to renew my Hyperspace membership.

A stinkin' video game???????

I was the master of Super Mario 3 (still am!), but that's about as advanced as I get.

The language they used in the Hyperspace announcement was very strange... misleading even. I was wondering the same thing - If this game (which I beleive is EAW:FOC) "is the biggest entertainment event of the year: a major addition to the Star Wars mythos", then what is the animated TV series.. chopped liver? :p Maybe this means we wont see either TV show until 2008.

Good point, JK!

I only do the cute types of video games, like the Lego Star Wars, so this one doesn't interest me.

Let's hope there's more...

Lego Star Wars II!

Well I'm one of the neanderthals excited by the game news, so I suppose you'll have to wait until some interesting developments in the Star Wars T.V show makes your Hyperspace worthwhile!

JOHNNAGE_THE_BRAVE, it's fine if you're excited by the game news. I just think it's odd they'd pump it up as something everybody should care about and give it superlatives as "the biggest SW entertainment event of the year" or say it's "an addition to the SW mythos." Well, if you put it that way, so is Lego Star Wars II ?:| .

Ah, but it is the first game to be centered around Darth Vader, and that is fairly big news. I can't wait to play it- but it will probably be on XBOX 360 so it will be years before I play it. Who can afford 300+ bucks for a game system? Not me, that's for sure-after all, I'm spending all my money on these stinkin' UGH figures.

I smell a multimedia event, a la Shadows of the Empire.
