So why did I want to be a marine science major? |
So I picked one of the hardest majors you could have...next to anything medical...marine science. Anyone who says that marine science is easy and can be done in 4 years is a liar and I want to shoot them. I'm just starting my fourth year and I have another year after this, not to mention I still have graduate school after I get my bachelor's degree. So I'm going to spend about 8-10 years and well over $100,000 on an education that isn't going to make me a lot of money and is hard to get a job in. So why did I want to be a marine science major?
So what is marine science? I'm sure some of you have asked that. It's a mix of marine biology, marine chemistry, physical oceanography, and marine geology. Which means I have to take ALL of those classes. And I have to take up to Calculus 2...which is almost impossible, two semesters of physics (which I'm just starting....and I feel like someone has killed my cat), plus all of the core requirements that everybody of every major has to take. So marine science...not fun. Then there's my specialty...conservation ecology. So that adds like five more science classes. I might be dead by the end of the semester...or maybe the week. Who knows. Hopefully I survive this semester, and next semster, and the following year. Just as long as I survive physics. If I can get through that...nothing can stop me.
So there's my rant...enjoy
