Why is there so much war post-ROTJ?
Several starwars.com bloggers have recently written equally fascinating entries about the EU. Kermit and Dark Spork come to mind.

In the spirit of these blogs, I'd like to discuss what I've always considered to be the most ironic thing in the EU...as well as the most inevitable.

It's, like, so violent.

I mean, we learn in Episode I that "there hasn't been a full-scale war since the formation of the Republic." The Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War are obviously the result of the Sith -- but Anakin destroys the Sith.

There's supposed to be balance. And, presumably, peace. So why is there so much war post-ROTJ?

I said it was inevitable, since nobody's going to buy a sci-fi book unless it's filled with war and conflict. I know I wouldn't. But that doesn't mean it makes any sense.

I'd like to see somebody write a Star Wars book dealing with this issue.
