4th of July Observations
I was standing on a bridge watching the fireworks last night when it dawned on me that fireworks shows are quite fascinating from a psychological perspective.

Here are my fourth of July observations:

1) People don't scream "OOOOH!!! AHHHH!!!" out of any excitement or awe. They're doing it so they can giggle at themselves.

2) The croud always seems to "know" when the show is over. I haven't the faintest idea how, and I'm always certain everybody else is wrong. And yet they're always right.

3) Unlogical as it seems to me, store-bought fireworks can apparently be set off on grass without starting a fire. Weird.

4) There are always at least three "fooled ya!" finales. I always turn to the people around me and say, "This must be it!" only to be proved wrong three seconds later.

Happy belated 4th of July, folks!

:)
