It seems to have become painfully cliche to say you have voices in your head when you really don't -- but those relatively few people who actually do hear people...always hear guys.
According to psychiatrists at the University of Sheffield (and no, I don't know where that is either), "the female voice is so much more complex that the brain would find it much harder to create a false female voice accurately than a false male voice."
No doubt women everywhere are going to spin this "complexity" into some overblown superiority trip. Bah.
