I'd just like to mention an email Walmart sent to me yesterday regarding my pre-ordered copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:

Thank you for your recent purchase from Walmart.com. The release date of your item(s) has changed. The information listed below provides the new release date and the date you can expect to receive your order....

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Original release date : 16 JUL 2005
New release date : 20 JUL 2005

Had me mildly upset for most of yesterday.

Of course, the release date is still the 16th, and I'm still going to get it on the 16th, and Walmart sent another email a few hours later saying they'd made a mistake.

"Mistake," incidentally, translates literally to non-corporate-speak as "a disgruntled Bentonvillian wanted to have some fun at the expense of obsessive Harry Potter fans. We're sorry, and heads are going to roll as soon as we're done laughing."
