Character Recognition

Wow I haven't done this in a while... Lets see if I still have it.

I was reading Shards of Alderaan the other day, and it dawned on me. Has anyone else realized that some of the most beloved Star Wars characters we don't even know what they look like or what their voice sounds like? All we have is books and comics. And if they are only in books and never in a comic we never get to see what they look like. For example, my favorite character is IG-88. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HIS VOICE SOUNDS LIKE! Or any of the bounty hunters, with the exception of Boba Fett. Its kinda weird. I can't think of one off the top of my head, but there probably are probably a few major characters we've never seen. Please comment if you can think of a beloved character that has never really been shown.

Well, believe it or not, in ROTJ, I saw a tiny glimpse of Mara Jade, in the big crowd in Jabba's palace, because she was going undercover as a dancer at the time.

Well there is Jacen, Janain, and Anikain Solo for starters. Also I really like Mara Jade and we never hear here voice.

DarthAmstutz Where did you learn your spelling!!!!

"Anikain" is spelled "Anakin"
"Janain" is suposed to be "Jaina"
"here" I think in your sentence is suposed to be "her"

date Posted: Aug 13, 2006 1:03 PM Mara's not in RotJ. They've said. I know who you're thinking of, that lady in red with black hair, but it's not Mara. They wrote into SW Insider about her. It's in the Star Wars Q&A (now Ask the Master) in Issue 66. And we've seen the Solo twins on book covers and the New Essential Guide to Characters.

Mara's "cover identity" was in the RotJ Radio Drama, and has therefore led fans to believe they can spot her in the films. As previously mentioned, LFL has stated you can't see her in the film 'cause she's not there....

How 'bout characters like Tycho Celchu, Garm bel Iblis, Talon Karrde, etc, etc, ad infinitum...

That's the things with books. There are always going to be things and places and people that you fall in love with, and the image you have is the one in your mind.

date Posted: Sep 24, 2006 9:09 AM well i guess u can use your imagination, isn`t that the point. Imagine if u found out that this character was totally different then u thought. Wouldn`t u be kinda disappointed so think about as that u can create your own ideas and imagination. is that such a bad thing
