Death Star Should be Closed Due to Lack of Safety Features
Due to the lacking of many safety features I beleive that the Death Star should be closed. Some of the safety breaches are as follows:

1. When the Death Star is being shot at Alderaan there are men that are right next to the beam. While that in itself might not be dangerous since there might be a wall but there is no such thing and they have to shield there eyes because it is so bright.

2. The pits in the Death Star are completely useless and unnecessary. Lets say they were necessary for some stupid reason. Why not put repulsor at the bottom to stop anyone that might accidentally fall in.

3. In the entire Death Star I do not see a single handrail. Something as simple as a handrail could have saved some of those troopers lives when the Millenium Falcon was bustin out of the station.

4. When OB1 goes to shut off the tractor beams it is on a precarious ledge. Why on earth would this be? If they needed to shut it off for some technical malfunction or something like that they would need to go on the ledge and possibly fall off if they lose there balance.

5. Also when Han Solo is running from the stormtroopers and the doors are closing Han jumps through them they do not open back up for safety reasons like most garage doors do now. What if someone tripped and fell on the door and broke something and the door started closing he would be crushed because someone didn't put in something as simple as a motion detector.

These and many other reasons are why I believe that the Death Star should be closed permanantly.
