So I was thinking today about how much I love the Expanded Universe Novels. I mean I already loved to read a LOT before the I found Star Wars novels, but it now seems like that SW novels are almost all of my leisure reading, and why shouldn't it be, since I love SW and the novels (well, most of them) are wonderfully written.
So my love for the EU of course got me to thinking about upcoming EU Novels, such as the
Dark Nest
Trilogy,
Dark Lord, and
Outbound Flight.
Dark Nest Trilogy
So with
The Joiner King, the Dark Nest Trilogy is the first of these books/series to have a book released. I am really looking forward to this series, as I have really gotten into the NJO-era books. I have liked Troy Denning's previous novels, so I am sure I will like this one also. Come on July 26!
Dark Lord
I have no doubt that I will LOVE Dark Lord. I like all off Luceno's SW novels so far, and my Sith side says it outta be nice and dark

Hmmm....will the DVD of EPIII or Dark Lord come out first? Or maybe the same day
Outbound Flight
I have always thought that Timothy Zahn was the best SW author out there. The thought of a new book by him is thrilling! In fact, I recently picked up Survivor's Quest from the library in order to read it again!
Libraries are my main source for SW books. Much as I love the EU, I seldom have the money to buy the books. And the fact that we go to the Birmingham AL library, which is four stories, certainly helps my quest for SW books. Add to that the fact that Jefferson County has 41 libraries that are a cooperative and you can request items from any library be delivered to the library of your choice certainly helps! Even though we live 2 hours from the library, we are often in the area due to my granddad. And though the out-of-county card costs $20 a year, it is relatively little considering that you can have books for 3 weeks, renew them online for another 3 weeks, and that their is a 100 book per card limit. he combination of these factors make it well worth it just for the SW books that I check out, much less the books the rest of my family uses. So the moral of this story is, if you live near a major city that has a library cooperative, check out their online catalog. It may well be worth the card fee and travel costs!
