What Happens in Vegas Stays in..........the Blogs.
Back in September I was super fly annoyed at the fact that Darth Vader, Chewbacca & Wicket were here in Las Vegas yet I was totally unable to get any information regarding their itinerary. We were left in the dark because we refused to camp out in the monorail station waiting for them to arrive.

But last night, I had a chance to meet some REAL Star Wars friends right here in Fabulous Las Vegas. Janlomona and entourage made a trip to Las Vegas for his wedding yesterday and we arranged a meeting for some good clean fun after the ceremony.

Hopefully most of you know his website Lightsabre, but if you don't, go check it out! He also wrote the article on page 11 of Insider #90. Cool! I've met someone who not only got himself published in the Insider BUT has had a chance to interview some really cool people for Lightsabre.

I won't go into any details of the wedding because I wasn't there! We met after the ceremony in a little bar at the Las Vegas Hilton called "Quarks." It's a Star Trek theme restaurant. I am a very casual ST fan, though I watched Next Generation religiously (and still can't pass up an episode when flicking through the channels these days), but this place was so much fun! Definitely going to bring Padawan-Wan back for the huge sundae that could feed an armada. Well, it did feed an armada come to think of it...

Sorry, no real names in this blog!

Jan & I had briefly talked about meeting during his trip here to Vegas, but as the day approached I started to get cold feet. I have met 2 other sw.com members, spoken to a few on the phone, exchanged pictures of our padawans, formed some real friendships here, so it definitely wasn't a fear of meeting. Quite honestly, I think part of it was a fear of driving down to the Hilton alone - one hotel I hadn't explored yet. Parking was strange, getting the restaurant was confusing. But, with the help of 4 really eager men (Bill, Bob, Mike & Jim) who tried to side track me with buying me a drink, I was able to find Quarks without dropping a single quarter in a slot machine.

Conversation was easy & many laughs were had. The blue drink served in sci-fi fish bowls was a little sweet for my taste, but the Ferengi Foccacia was great. I still have half of it in my fridge this morning, heat that puppy up with dinner tonight...

Jan's wedding was everything that my wedding 9 years ago was not: simple, intimate, personal & fun! There's a big difference between getting married in your 30's and getting married at 23. Jan has inspired me to be creative for our 10th anniversary.

Jet lag & blue drinks setting in on the bride & groom, I decided that it was time for me to head home. The offer stands for Jan, Mrs. Lomona & their friends that were in town for the wedding to give me a call if they want to do any hiking or exploring around town.

It was a great time, I'm glad I braved the 5:00 traffic to get down there, glad I didn't take Bill, Bob, Mike & Jim up on their drink, glad I made some new friends!

My offer still stands: anyone who comes to Vegas please look me up!!
