In just 8 days, the Hive of Scum & Villainy will be closing its doors.

After 2 years of stellar business, the management has decided that it is time to put the old horse down.

Why? Well, my hyperspace membership expires on November 22nd and I just can't see any real reason to justify the $14.99 for another year. I know, it's not a lot of money, in fact, that's just a fraction of what it cost when I originally signed up in 2005 when it was $49.99. But I have to be honest, the reason I went from a "grey name" to a HS member was to get the Insider Magazine for my son! But since Insider changed publishers, I haven't been all that interested in it. I received my "There's a Disturbance in the Force" notice from the Insider warning me that I hadn't renewed.... but I allowed the disturbance to continue. This butterfly has been flapping her wings for years & really I'm not sure I've changed the weather anywhere.

Several HS members have been urging me to renew telling me that $14.99 really isn't all that much. I don't argue that point - it's not all the much. But without the Insider as incentive, it's just not the same.

Yeah, those last 8 are blank on purpose because I can't think of 8 other things.

So in 8 days, the Hive of Scum & Villainy will close its doors to the public. No more blue milk at 2am. No more mud wrestling. The Modal Nodes will have to find a new gig. And me? I'm going to take a well deserved vacation in The Blue Hot Girl Parallel Universe.

Perhaps we will open our doors again. But it's difficult to see: Always in motion the future.
