Oboe-Wan's Favorite SW Toys - 2005
OMG - for a minute i thought this was a picture of the Exploding General Grevious Action Figure in the picture selector!!! Well, we can't have everything I guess!!

I hit the publish (and not preview) button, so I appologize for anyone who got to see a blank blog a few minutes ago!!

In 2005 we purchased many Star Wars Toys for our Padawan. We, as parents, have our favorites, and of course our son, as the demographic, has his! Here we go!

Mom & Dad's favorite action figure: Galactic Heroes series, ANH Princess Leia. She's so much smaller than the other characters and with her hand behind her back, she looks like she's really "up to something."

Padawan's favorite action figure: Jedi Heroes figures: ROTJ Luke w/bike speeder & light-up lightsaber. Mostly he plays with the lightsaber, but the speeder bike rocks his world.

Mom & Dad's favorite ships: the mini-die cast series. These things get torn out of the boxes so fast I still haven't read the packaging! These are great - just big enough that a 4-year-old will not to choke on them but small enough that he can carry 2 or 3 in one hand. Fit easily into pockets, purses and back packs.

Padawan's favorite ships: Anakin's Jedi Fighter. This thing, despite it's large size, goes with the kid everywhere! Grocery store, play dates, road trips, to the bathroom.... you get the hint. He cannot live without it. Does he have an Anakin Action Figure to stick in it? Nope. Empty cockpit! Doesn't matter. Because Anakin's was such a big hit, Santa also brought Obi-Wan's matching fighter. Of course he loves this as well and now begs us daily to also get us Mace Windu's from Clone Wars and wonders if every Jedi has a toy fighter for him to buy. Everyone, keep your eyes open for me!!

Most entertaining toys of the year: Well, I'm at a loss for what to put here.... Could it be Exploding General Grevious? I think so!! The padawan has opened the 2nd one he received back at xmas and some how all the parts keep ending up in my bedroom, next to my bed, in the strategic places for me to step on them every time I get up in the middle of the night. Exploding General Grevious is not only fun & entertaining, but he's a RIOT in the middle of the night when you have to dig his little claw feet out from the sole of your foot at 2:32am.

Please include your favorite and your kids' favorite toys from this year!! There's some great stuff out there and I'm always on the lookout for things out of the ordinary.

Lol, I saw your blog when it was just a few lines, I was quite surprised but I did have a feeling you had hit the publish button unintionally ( as I have done the very same thing before, lol :8} ).

Hehe, I had no kids ( as I am only 14, lol ) but one of my faves is my Mace Windu ROTS action figure, I just love it,lol. I would love if they had a Mace Windu starfighter toy, I'd definitely get it.

Good blog. :D

My favorite is the 500 Darth Vader figure! I find the exploding Grievous quite frustrating. It just kept falling apart everytime I touched it!:_|

I very much like how you call your child "padawan." When I'm older, I will do that too. (Since I liked your idea) My favorite toy would have to be my dear "ARC 170." These were pretty tough to find, but they fit three guys (My favorite combo being Anakin, Clone Commander, and an ARC pilot) and have a flip out pistol grip that has a trigger that when puuled, releases two proton bombs. I love it. I didn't even know that they made an exploding Grevious. Nice Blog.

Well I'd have to say my favorites have been:
500 Darth Vader
Trivial Pursuit Star Wars Edition
Utapau Shadow Trooper
Darth Vader Giant PEZ
LEGO TIE Fighter, Arc-170, V-Wing, and the Slave I, even though it's '06.

You wish to know the most "exploding" toy, try the Lego MF, that thing will break six ways from sunday, Imagine it placed ever so, beautifully on a windowsil (SP?) with rays from the sun glaring off it, and a giant, evil, monster, cat comes barreling through the window with no regard to safety throughly demolishing the once proud frieghter leaving it in a pile that would make the wrekage from both Death Stars proud. Two hours of work lost in a second, ahh, but instruction were still available, but even still that ship is very prone to breaking with all those, panels opening up the inside, but quite an awesome toyu in its own right

LOL! We have theTiderian Shuttle (sp?) which breaks apart all the time! SO...... we may have glued it together with modeling glue. ;) It was our very first LEGO endeavor, but obviously not our last! We also have a clone scout walker which has been demolished into a thousand tiny pieces, the instructions long gone.....

FAV Star Wars toy? That's tough... Well I really liked:
Galactic Heroes "Mullet" Anakin (My first ROTS toy, >sniff<)
ROTS Pregnant Padme
Galactic Heroes General Grievous (Doesn't explode and you can't loose parts!)

My sister and I each wanted a Boga, but we could only find one and it was $17!

(P.S. I agree, Galactic Heroes Leia is THE BEST! I didn't get it in 05, that's all)
