Giddy as a Protoform
I'll admit. I lost count of how many times I've watched the two new Transformers commercials that came out today. You can find them here at IGN:

http://media.movies.ign.com/media/568/568421/vids_1.html

"Destiny" and "Hidden" they're called.

In some of the more crowded online haunts where Transfans spend the day griping, the cynical bemoaning of jaded fans has mood-swung over to the gleeful sputtering of inner children typing as fast as they can. It might last, it might not. For now, I'm enjoying the moment because, in a way, this moment was not available to me for the past two SW movies. I was too inside to enjoy such revelations as part of an audience.

Now I'm not privy to inside knowledge -- I haven't seen how this particular sausage was made, so I can enjoy it wholly.

And yeah, I'm still coming to terms with being this excited about a Michael Bay movie. (Though, I will admit that I enjoyed the Island).

Okay, to fess up, I do have a little bit of inside knowledge, though it has nothing to do with working next door with the folks who are making the amazing visual effects. I'm involved with a licensed Transformers movie tie-in project that I'll probably be able to talk about in April.

More to come. My favorite fanboy post I saw online that pretty much sums it all up:

"Amazing. This movie has all I've ever wanted. Jon Voight, Robots, Sweet Cars, Hot girls, and Optimus Prime"

That's exactly the right attitude.

These trailers look good. I'll readily admit I'm no die-hard Transformers fan, but I am looking forward to this movie.

Uggghhhh, out of all the those sites that I've visited, the main movie site is the worst. Many offer careful negative criticism, some like it, some love it, and some spew rhetoric so spiteful, ignorant, and childish, they make Supershadow look tame in comparison. But one thing's for sure, no whining Transfan's going to ruin my movie experience.

I'll tell you what, when I first saw that little tidbit of Bumblebee transforming, and seeing Starscream transforming whilst going underneath the bridge, manuevering upwards and landing on the bridge fully transformed, I nearly geeked out. This movie is TRULY going to rock!!

I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive at first, but after seeing all the info on this movie and the trailer released last December, I can definitely say that this is Michael Bay's finest hour!

Hmm, interesting. Can't wait to see what that is! :)

Same as me. I kind of missed out on "Beast Wars" during my childhood, but this movie looks very fun and I'm pretty sure it will attract more than the Transformers fan base.
