Contact Music, one of my most frequented haunts for really sloppy journalism, strikes again with this shocking expose.

JACKSON SLAMS MCGREGOR'S STAR WARS RANT

Actor SAMUEL L. JACKSON is baffled by STAR WARS co-star EWAN MCGREGOR's recent attack on the sci-fi franchise - insisting his role was a dream come true. MCGregor claimed the prequels were the worst films he has ever made, but Jackson can't understand the reasoning behind his statement. Jackson says, "I'm sorry Ewan feels that way. I always loved those movies; I always wanted to be in one."

Ohhh... BOOM goes the dynamite! SLAM simply doesn't cover it. Not since that meteor PLOWED into those dinosaurs has there been a roundhouse so powerful. Can't you just feel the blistering heat coming off that cannon-lobbed "I'm sorry". Man, Ewan is gonna think twice before ever having a quote (or, as is known in some periodicals as a "rant" apparently) attributed to him by a third person like in this story.

I should fess up to a few things before Contact Music's vigilant reporters expose my recent behavior. Yes, I totally EVISCERATED my browser today for slowly loading a webpage, and also DECAPITATED a barista for placing my order in such a way that I almost grabbed someone else's coffee. I believe my direct quote was, "sorry about that."

My temper is almost as bad as Sam's.

	The Stooge Star Wars Joke-A-Day
date Posted: Oct 10, 2007 7:05 PM Here's what I don't get -- if you're gonna use "slam," why not rhyme it with "Sam"? And though nothing goes with "McGregor," the actor's first name opens up a bunch of possibilities: *SAM SLAMS EWAN'S SPEWIN'* See? Much better.

date Posted: Oct 10, 2007 7:19 PM LOL, Stooge Even though few things get my goat more than graceless, tacky actors #####ing to the media about Oh So Hard It Is To Be A Star Wars Hero(ine), I felt that recent "quote" about Ewan was inaccurate or complete bravo sierra. The alleged "Slam" by Samuel L. Jackson is just the cherry on the cake.

ah journalism...how the mighty have fallen.

I read the original story you posted the link to and I also somehow find ITS autnenticity in question...I get the feeling Ewan's "quote" was taken WAY out of context, IF he even said anything remotely along those lines to begin with.

there's a behind the scenes clip on the Ep. I DVD that sums it all up for ME:

Ewan does a stunt fall onto an airbag, gets up with the BIGGEST GRIN EVER on his face , turns to a stage hand and says "so they say to me 'You wanna be in a Star Wars film?' and I say F@#$ing A right I do!"

doesnt sound like a man who thought Star Wars sucked.

I've searched my feelings, and I know this not to be true.

I remember the DVD clip that DJ is talking about, and in every interview I've seen with Ewan talking about SW, his eyes light up when he talks about being a part of SW. Even if he's just trying to sell the prequels, you can't fake that (at least that's what I'm going to tell myself).
