Rookies: Rendezvous -- Week Ten Annotations
Monday -- Strip 46 We're back at the docking bays. This is our first look at Raal's ship. It's an original design -- from the looks of it, from Sienar. It's not very big, as far as personal space transports go, but it's clearly larger than say a fighter.

Smiley's packed to go, which in this case means an extra bandolier and a tool of Squib origin strapped to his back. Spilfer, the first Squib readers ever got to know in Scavenger Hunt (1988, WEG) had a similar, but not exactly the same, device.

Tuesday -- Strip 47 It's a pretty roomy cockpit for one person. I figure every space on Raal's ship has the potential to host a party.

Wednesday -- Strip 48 Now, paths are starting to converge. Skorr's back, with some friends -- 4-LOM, Zuckuss, and someone we haven't seen in about ten years, Furlag, from Shadows of the Empire (Can you believe that was ten years ago?) While it's Evasive Action: Prey that's whole-heartedly exploring some of those elements, I couldn't resist bringing back some of that fun.

Skorr's eavesdropping may prove lucrative, and we can probably guess which officer he's radioing.

Thursday -- Strip 49 Here's the reason I noted before that the interconnectedness of these docking bays would be important. While I imagine there were probably locks and other security measures that had be to overrided to achieve what happens here, the event has been distilled down to three panels.

I can imagine Carl Stalling sneaking around music too.

Friday -- Strip 50 Not much to add here, other than noting that YT-1300s don't vary much in the cockpit interior either, apparently.

That's it for the first 50 strips of Rookies. Next week, several paths cross rather explosively. Till next time!

Carl Stalling? Please enlighten me! :D

"Sneaky music," as I imagine it, is something jazzy sounding. Preferrably Mancini's Pink Panther theme. It is one of those music cliches like the DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNN!!! when something shocking happens. ;)

Good ol' Furlag. I thought that's who it was.

Hidalgo, as far as fans go, you truly are a man after my own heart.
