Who is Padmeskywalker77 (aka PS77) ??
Ok...in keeping up with the ladies of the LILWA, I guess today is my turn to reveal a little about myself. Now, the question is: Where do I begin?

I was born in January of 1977, so I was only a few months old when what we know today as ANH was released. My parents really were not into SW and similar films, so I really did not become a fan until I was an adult. I do remember watching SW on I think it was Friday nights on CBS and being afraid of Darth Vader. I did not fully understand the story so I guess I almost avoided the saga for all of those years. However, now that I have discovered the saga, I cannot imagine my life without it.

I grew up in the "farm country" of Northwest Ohio, just across the field from my maternal grandparents' farm...the place where both my grandfather and my mother were raised. When my sister and I were nearing High School age, we moved into town so that we could be closer to school and our other commitments. I started playing the piano when I was about 8 years old, and then the clarinet a few years later. Unfortunately, I have not kept up with these, and often find myself missing the relaxing effect playing gave me. I do have a small keyboard (nowhere near the number of keys of a piano), and play every once in a while, but that is even difficult.

I graduated at the top of my class and moved to the "big city" for college. I decided that nursing was my passion, so I pursued that degree. Moving away from home was difficult, but I found comfort in new friends I made through my co-ed Fraternity...especially because one member (female) was a SW fan, and organized "cultural events" around the re-releases of the OT in1997. Here, my passion for SW began, but ended shortly thereafter :( . I also took up country line dancing, something that, to this day, I enjoy immensely. I graduated with my BSN and started working as a nurse in a facility in Northeast Ohio that cares for "Special Needs" children. I worked here for two years before I decided that I needed other experiences, and decided to work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of a local Children's Hospital...I had taken one year off from school and then returned to work on my Master's Degree in Nursing. This took me another five years, and I became certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner last summer. I am continuing my search for a job where I can use this degree and certification. I also had a manuscript accepted for publication by a Pediatric medical journal, and am still waiting for the edition in which it will appear. Because of my commitments to school and work, I have not had time to date much, so I remain single. I know that one of these days I will "find" my Anakin or my Obi-Wan, or my Luke or my Han...whichever "type" fits me best, I do not know...but I know that day will be wonderful.

Last summer, my passion for SW was renewed with the release of ROTS. The weekend after I saw ROTS, I decided to watch the OT to "refresh" my memory on the story. Then I decided that I should watch the PT so that I knew the story leading into ROTS. I am going to admit this...I watched the PT backwards---ROTS, then AOTC, then TPM. I guess I had been so busy working on my MSN and working full-time that I had forgotten about the SW saga. :O I, like Rex0 (who said in a statement in his 50th blog entry), joined Hyperspace so that I could gain access to "Member's only" content on the site...I could not get enough of ROTS. I noticed the blogs earlier this year and started commenting on a few here and there. I had thought about writing my own, but was not sure about putting my thoughts and feelings out there for all to read. Then, Angel came along and, in her own way, inspired me to write...and not just in comments to others. :x So I took that "leap" and decided to put my thoughts down for everyone to read...which was a little scary for me since I tend to be a little on the "quiet/shy" side. Now, I have become "addicted" to this site and to writing. I never knew that blogging could be such a "release" for my thoughts, as I really do not have too many people to share this love of SW with...my family and many of my friends and co-workers do not understand my passion and do not understand the movies. Also, the entries by the LILWA keep me coming back because I have had fun with them and enjoy what they have to say.

I have also recently begun costuming, a "hobby" my family does not understand and that I cannot fully explain to them. I guess I felt that I needed something to fill my spare time, and this was what I chose...a very expensive hobby at that ;) . I currently have two Padme' costumes finished (the battle outfit from ROTS and the nightgown she wears in the beginning of ROTS) and one in the "works" (the picnic gown from AOTC). I also have several more Padme' costumes and a couple of Leia costumes in the planning stages. I will eventually finish these, and will need to find something else to occupy my time. However, that is far away before that ever happens.

I hope you all enjoyed learning a little more about me, and I look forward to learning more about the rest of you. So...who's going to be next? :x

May the Force Be With You :)

It was wonderful learning more about you, PS77!

I, too, played the piano when I was young, although I'm about 9 years older than you so I was around when SW was in it's heyday. So, I got to have the sheetmusic for the SW theme and learned it on the piano! So fun!! Then I picked out the Imperial March. Fun!

Can't do it now either, but I still have the memories. I have the sheetmusic still, too, so if I ever get a piano again, maybe I can try to pick it out... ?:|

This past fall, I bought the "collection books" of piano sheet music for TPM, AOTC, ROTS, and the OT (special edition collection) and tried some of the pieces. I was able to pick up some of the music, but not all :( . I'll hopefully have a piano one of these days...when I buy my first home...and will be able to start playing again. Thanks for your comments

Blogging is definitely addictive, in the good sense. Kind of like exercise. Thanks for sharing your story. SW is a great thing to be enthusiastic about. Great community of people here on the blogs as well.

It's great to get an idea of who the people are that we communicate with here in Hyperspace. Your proffession is very noble. and I'm sure you must love children. In my life I have had reasons to deal with Pediatric Nurses especially for "Special Needs" children and I never met one that I did not like. Thanks for sharing.

Sooooooooo great to learn more about you, dahhhhhhhling :D !!!
I'm envious of your piano ability - I play flute, but the piano has always been such a hypnotic and beautiful sound to me.

my family and many of my friends and co-workers do not understand my passion and do not understand the movies I hear ya loud and clear - my oldest brother is a Trekkie! We respect our differences, of course :)

Also, the entries by the LILWA keep me coming back Long live the LILWA!!!! :D

I CAN NOT IMAGINE MY LIFE WITHOUT IT....

Nor can I imagine my "life" with Hyperspace without you, PS77 :| Ever since my first entry you have always had "positive" things to say, THANK YOU.

"NURSING IS MY PASSION"

What you have done here is just incredible! There are so many children in need of care these days they are extreme lucky if they come into your care. Some one who possess such "selflessness and dedication" to others is beyond impressive. I only wish I could do more to help. You are definitely " one " that makes this world a better place.

I would love to see those costumes you have made - I sew as well, but mainly costumes for the kids, jammie bottoms, Jedi robes and other things for the house - nothing elaborate.

FAMILY AND MANY OF MY FRIENDS.....DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY PASSION....

Here, here. I am with you on this one. Even my 9yr. old refers to me as a "STAR WARS GEEK". That is why I am thankful for Hyperspace and the site, mostly importantly the LILWA. Which really is just a name, a name to signify the *girls* ( or guys too ) who remained so misunderstood. Now have found each other, not by chance either, it was "meant" to happen it was DESTINY. No longer are we "fish out of water", we found our SEA are will continue on our swimming journey. Thanks so much for sharing and my apologies for my *cornyness*....ANGEL :D

it was DESTINY.

Indeed, I think it was. Many of us who have enjoyed the LILWA dicussions came on the site at a similar time. I have really enjoyed everyone's "company"! PS77 it was so nice to hear more about you. :) I remember you commenting before that you had made one of Padme's nightgowns, but I had assumed it was the one from AOTC, which is beautiful but not nearly as complicated as the one from ROTS. You obviously are a woman with many talents!

BTW if anyone has written a "revealed" blog and I haven't commented on it that means I missed it.:( So, please e-mail it on. I'm enjoying learning about everyone!:)

Here, here, rjpeters :) Everyone (for the most part) shows respect for everyone else, and it is great to be part of such a wonderful community.

I own a medical uniform shop in Florida so if you ever need scrubs or lab jackets let me know I'll give you a SW discount

Thanks for the offer gatorjedi...I hopefully won't have to buy any more scrubs--I'm "holding out" until I get a PNP job where I can wear "real" clothes for a change. I have a farily large walk-in closet with a set of 2 shelves/bars on one side and a single shelf/bar on the other...and an entire row is practically filled with scrubs :8}

You know, cbern...I have always loved the sound of a sax, but never played one. I give you credit for that.

i haven't read much of your stuff, but i will try to

Thanks...I've read a few of your entries and liked what I read. I'll try to comment a little more :)

I agree jedilily...this way we get an idea of where the person is coming from when they either write an entry or a comment. It seems we all have similar backgrounds in one way or another...besides SW, of course :)

...and I never met one that I did not like.

Aw, thanks :8} . I do love working with children, especially those with complex and/or "special" medical needs. I guess working with them on a daily basis had something to do with that. It is easy to get attached to them, and difficult to "let go."

:8} Angel...I'm humbled. I love what I do and cannot imagine doing anything else. Some days are difficult, but the good always outweigh the bad.

it was "meant" to happen it was DESTINY.

Everything happens for a reason, I always say/think. Our "meeting" was not by chance...we all had a connection before we even set "eyes" on this site, and that connection has been found and has grown.

Thanks dahhhhhling...same to you. ;)

I would love to see those costumes you have made

Maybe some day...I'm still working hard on that picnic gown. I was planning to wear it this Halloween, but I'm still working on the skirt :O . I've got just a little of the hem to go and then I can start the embroidery on the blouse. I am positive that it will get done in time.

That is true...many of us did come into the blogs around the same time.

You obviously are a woman with many talents!

:8} Aw, how sweet. I think it goes back to my days in "farm country" and my membership in 4-H--I took up sewing during my years in this club, and even went to the Ohio State Fair once for it. I lost touch until last October, when I made the 2 ROTS costumes, and I was "hooked" again.

That was a touching bio, PS77. I was talking to my wife about some of the folks I come across here and mentioning that many of them weren't old enough to have seen the OT when it came out. Of course, that brings up the question: How did these people become such big fans if they weren't really around then? So, it's always interesting to hear the genesis of someone's fandom. I wish you much luck with your job hunt - may you find a rewarding one. Take care! :)

I, too, enjoyed reading more about you, ps77! I love to hear about what makes sw fans tick! There is a certain depth to most of (us) that I so appreciate because it seems rare IRL. It can't be as rare as it seems...can it???

Thank you for sharing! :)

Thanks k-fan. I also find it interesting how those of us who were not old enough to see the OT with its first release found our fandom. And thanks for the words of luck in my job hunt...it has become quite tedious :)

I agree ami...and I don't think the depth you speak of is as rare as it seems. I know others who are non-SW fans who have a similar depth for their passions.

And I, too, got started with ROTS. I had never had any connection wth the movies until my dad somehow got two free tickets and took me. He fell asleep (that heretic!), but I came out of it totally hooked and in love with Anakin. I then watched the rest of the PT in reverse, proceeded to ESB and ROTJ, and last, watched the first, ANH. And the rest is history.

Even my 9yr. old refers to me as a "STAR WARS GEEK".
Sigh. Nobody understands us.( Prime example, my father the SW hater.)
