A Stitch (or 2 or 1,320,000) In Time
Hello everyone out there in blogsville :D I have seen several costuming entries floating around these parts over the past several days, and thought that I would give everyone out there some updates on my work. I hope nobody is getting tired of reading these types of entries...I know I'm not, but it is my passion after all ;)

Back in December, I wrote an entry giving you all a "sneak peek" into how I became interested in costuming and what I had done up to that point. The main push behind this was Kenobi-Fan's blog challenge entry that was written for me. Since that time, I have made quite a bit of progress on those projects I had yet to finish or yet to start. With only 13 full days left until CIV :O , I am really feeling the push to finish everything on time. Never fear, though, things will be finished on time...even if I have to be up all night the night before I leave :p Here are some updates on what has been happening in this crazy costuming world of PS77...and a little reveal of me, since most of you will be seeing me in person soon:

Veranda Nightgown

I have altered this one slightly in order to make a few things more screen accurate. Mainly, I have altered the pearl straps and the back drape (which is still causing me headaches, since I can't get it right). I had been planning on taking this to CIV as a back-up for another costume, but that is no longer happening...due to that other costume being entered in the costume contest :D . This image has appeared before (*cough*Mina*cough*), and essentially shows the front alterations I made. I will not show the back at this time, since I am still unhappy with it. :(

Meadow Picnic Gown

No changes have been made to this costume, but I used this one in my application to the Rebel Legion...and I was accepted for membership!! Since it took me almost an hour to get everything on by myself (I truly do need help getting into this thing :8} ), I took several pics from different angles. However, this is my favorite out of all of them :) I will be wearing this one on Friday!!

Leia Ceremonial Gown

This particular costume was not even a consideration back in December, but I ended up making this one to wear to the Meet & Greet party!! I figured it was simple and easy enough to change into that it would be great to wear to this event. So...look for this one later Thursday. :) The most difficult part of this one was the sleeves/wings...but I figured them out for the most part. I made the belt myself (after finally figuring out how to do it :^O ) and ordered the necklace from another costumer (saved me lots of time). Here I am being a little sassy...and here is the back of the gown (complete with my hair pieces B-) )

Loyalist Committee Gown

This, I entered into the costume contest!! I will be on-stage during the Sunday show...if anyone wants to come and support me ;) . I still have the headpiece to finish for this one, but it's getting there. I am in the process of gluing synthetic hair braids onto the base I constructed...and then all I have to do is wrap it with strips of gold (for the ornamentation) and figure out how to get it to stay on my head :^O . I came to the realization the other night at work that, if I don't quite get this quite finished in time before I leave, I can always finish it in the hotel room. I also need to practice walking in this, so I'm not the one tripping and falling on stage!! I do not have any pics of me in this one yet, but here are some pics of the final version .

Leia Bespin Outfit

I was finally able to start this one in late January...and have been working frantically to finish this one on time!! It took me almost an entire month to hand trace the pattern that I would be stitching onto the fabric!! I am hand-embroidering the cloak :O , and that takes a LOT of time...and patience, and dedication!! I may or may not have the copper trim that lines the collar, sleeve hem, and bottom hem of the top and the outside of the cloak...but that won't bother me too much (I can do that after I return home). I definitely don't have any pics of me in this one, since it is not even finished yet...but I do have some progress pics of the cloak embroidery. These two were taken today, and show just how close I am to finishing (please ignore the white paper...it will be removed)!! This one was taken back in March, and shows the back of the cloak, with the shadow-work stitching. Here is a pic of my fabric for the top, pants, and belt and the custom-dyed shoes I ordered. I will be wearing this outfit on Saturday!!

Well...I hope I didn't bore any of you here. I didn't get into too many details here about how I constructed everything. If anyone is interested in reading more about how I made these (i.e. patterns, fabric, etc.), feel free to check out my blogger site for all the details. I will be updating it as I complete projects. Now...off to work on that embroidery!!

As always, comments are welcome :D

May the Force Be With You All :x

I will be seeing some of you in 13 days!!
