The Anakin Infatuation
There has been a lot of talk lately about Anakin and his "unmentionable" Force abilities. :x This entry goes out to "my gals:" VA2, AS1, HG3, Ami, Master Andy, MO2, and all those who responded to the other entries. This is also my attempt to "lighten up" the mood from my previous entries...hopefully it works out ok.

All right, the question I am posing here today is...What is it about Anakin that has driven all of us to this infatuation...this infatuation that began in an entry by HG3 and has "exploded" (no pun intended ;) ) into entries by VA2, AS1, MO2, and even Wampa Jedi? We all know where the discussion has taken us up to this point ;) :8} , but I'm curious as to what "traits" of Anakin's (besides the obvious--powerful Force abilities, fabulous 6-pack, gorgeous while "sweating"...:x :8} ) make each of us "swoon."

For me, Anakin is everything I'm not...he's adventurous, unafraid to go against the "grain" (that one's for you VA2 ;) ), unafraid to occasionally "throw caution to the wind." As anakinside1 quoted in her last entry: "He is a wild creature who has come gently to her hand..." Anakin is a force of nature, a whirlwind of emotion. He comes on strong and fierce in everything he does. He is like the electricity in lightening, the sound in thunder, there is no need for him to reach out into the force because there is no part of him that is not in it all the time. This essentially sums up the qualities in Anakin that have "pushed" me into this "infatuation" of sorts. It also helps that he has "killer" eyes...eyes that, when they look deeply into yours, you know that they're meant for you...and a confidence that exudes sensuality...a trait I just love in a man.

He's strong, yet gentle; he's confident, yet unsure; he's simple, yet complicated...all conflicting traits that would make being with him mysterious, exciting, and adventurous, never dull. It is all of these combined that have often made me wish there really was an Anakin and I really was his Padme'...or that I would be able to experience a love like theirs. Yes, I know that this "story" is not real and that this is a fantasy...but who can blame me for wishing? ;) Who knows, maybe someday I will meet "my Anakin" and life will be filled with love and adventure.

OK...now it's your turn. Tell me what inspires you about Anakin, what it is that makes you all "warm and fuzzy" inside when you see or think about him. Curious I am :)

Hey...I'm the first to comment - I beat VA2..no WAY!! :p
Anakin is the ultimate "bad-boy". He reeks deliciousness. He is a lost soul yearning to be found. Any woman would want to tap into his needs and try to make him whole. Aside from the obvious asthetically-pleaseing attributes you mentioned...he is like a wild mustang..you can't tame his spirit but you can only hope to jump on and share the ride for a while. (Ok...wouldn't we ALL want to jump on THAT mustang????) :p :8}
Ahhhhhh.....whatever it is.....it is good...very, very good. ;)

Actually, the one scene where I get the little flutterby's is the one where they are in bed and Anakin gets up in his jammy's with no shirt on and you see that 6-pack!~ That's the one that does it for me!

Remember, I'm actually a true-blue Han's girl all the way!!! But that one scene just blows me away for some reason!!! Wow!

Otherwise, I really just love joking about "light sabers" and stuff! *hee hee* :^O

And BTW, my favorite kiss in the entire saga is the Han/Leia smooch on the Falcon for the very first time when she says, "I happen to like nice men." He replies, "I'm nice men." And she says, "No you're not, you're..." Ahhhhh! :x I melt!!!!! Oh, to be her!!!

Totally agree with you there MO2 :x Yes, just about any woman would want to "take hold" of that and help him become whole, whatever it takes. :)

I beat VA2..no WAY!!

Maybe she hasn't seen this yet :p I'm sure she'll stop by sooner or later.

I must be gettin' to bed...been up since a little after 5pm last evening (I'm on Eastern Time), and I'm starting to get a little tired. I'll check back later. Try not to "misbehave" too much ;)

But seriously, the reason I'm attracted to Anakin's character is because, like you said, he's everything I'm not. He's got this dark 'vibe' that just drives me crazy. I don't think I'm 'dark' in the least. He's outgoing, I'm quiet. He's seemingly fearless, I'm cautious. Gotta love 'im.

That's the one that got me, too...the first time I saw ROTS. I still "melt" every time I see that part.

That is a great kiss, HG3. I don't forget Han and Leia and their "steam"...but I'm almost partial to Anakin and Padme' (obviously ;) ).

Exactly, jediholteh. I'm the same as you, and I think that's why I'm so attracted to him...he's everything I'm not. I'm learning, slowly, to be more of those things, but I'm just not there yet. :)

Yeah, same here. But 'opposites attract' has never been more true! I'm always becoming attracted to those who are least like me. I'm not really attracted to Obi-Wan for that reason, I guess. He seems to take a bit more caution, and is a bit more.. responsible. That's too me, for me. :)

My reasons: It's the idea of him. GL just happenedd to use a Monument of a Man to get this point/story across.

When I saw AOTC I fell in love with the idea of him being DV It's the tragic love story.

The love the character he portrays has for his wife (no matter what he did) is the kind of love I have always been looking for & have never found but haven't lost hope to find. But then again Padme's love, faithfulness and loyalty to him IS another reason I like the story.

Remember I'm separated and heading for a divorce. All of this has come upon me at a very vulnerable time in my life and THIS LOVE STORY IS BEAUTIFUL TO ME. TOO SAPPY HUH.

#1 EYES!!!!!.... It's the stare, the descending Gaze of the flickering Blue flame of those hypnotic EYES!!!! *sigh* It's Hot in here........
#2 MOUTH!!!! The tender, yet deliciously tempting nibble of his TEETH as he gently bites down on his perfectly *full* buttom lip!!! and then yeah, you guessed it *STARES* at you again!!!!:x
3# LONG AND LEAN !!!! His Frame!!! Get your minds out of the Gutter! He's *over towering*, it seems as if he would swallow you up in his embrace and hide you away from the rest of the world........(cont. darn Limits!!!)

Its the Mutual Anakin Admiration Society (MAAS) at it again! YEA!

Ani is adorable, as a 9-year-old and as he grows. I would love to be there for him, to help him figure out what he wanted and what he needed from life, the jedi, padme, etc. HE would have been the greatest jedi ever if he had been able to slow down and unwind for a few minutes. Instead he lost it, and lost it bad. Good thing Luke was there to save the day!

Yup! In fact, GL has said that's one of the reasons he cast Hayden. He was both vulnerable and dark simultaneously.

Anakin gets up in his jammy's with no shirt on and you see that 6-pack!~ That's the one that does it for me!
Yup!

What also gets me are his fierce loyalty, his kindness and willingness to fight for others (well, at least until he goes Sithy).

I'm glad I have a chance to comment here, I've read the other related blogs and I've really wanted to comment but I've been really busy.

Not to sure....anyway, ummmm don't think were allowed to talk about this *publicly*? It's a *double-edged* meaning, in reference to HG3 *light saber* comments.
Basically, We were wondering how Padme' resisted Anakin for as long as she did? and how *we* would just have to satisfy our *curiousness* about *IT*....:8} hence forth the *GLOW WORM* and the *LIGHT SABER*.... Hope that sheds some LIGHT! hahaha Angel

How come I missed this entry until just now? Ok, so for me, it's totally the Bad Boy attitude (of course, before the masacre of the jedi temple). Come on, the eyes, the looks, the long hair, the six pack, the scar! Oh gosh, the scar shows that the man is a fighter, and that means he is willing to protect his gal (even though he went a little to far with Padme). He is also really sweet and kind. The only real problem I have with Anakin (actually, I have two) is that:

a) He has a big anger management problem]:)
b) He is taken

But then, there is always Obi Wan, who is just as sexy and has the british/scottish accent thing going for him :x :p

So many hot guys in Star Wars to admire, so little time

Wow :p --looks like I "hit" on something here :) . See what happens when you've been up all night working...thinking about this "topic" because you read an entry about it before going into work...and not being tired enough to go to bed right away when you get home. And then see what happens when you sleep the afternoon away...dreaming about Anakin...and not being able to check for comments until you get up? Anyway...thanks everyone. Same here, jediholteh. I mean, I really love Ewan's portrayl of Obi-Wan...but, the character is more of a cautious, follow the rules type of person...much like myself now and back when I was "growing up." That's not always a "bad thing," though...there's always got to be a "level headed" person to balance out the "wild, carefree" person :)

I hear ya, jedilily!! Good 'ol George needed to find someone that fit that description to fill the role and, I must say, he did a fantabulous job :)

But then again Padme's love, faithfulness and loyalty to him IS another reason I like the story.

Same here. I think this is the reason many of us here love this story...it's not all about Anakin...it's about the love between Anakin and Padme' and her faith and loyalty for him that we can't get enough of.

MAAS is easier to say, VA2 is right on that, but LILWA captures more of what is actually going on. Well, let it be 4 for MAAS.

True, which is why everybody is more into Anakin. The same concept applies to Han and Luke. Han is certainly more attractive for the "Scoundrel" factor, and that always has attracted me. Then Luke is a lot like his father, and although he does follow the rules (like Obi) he tends to break them every now and then and we get to see that darker side of him, which is what makes him attractive.:D

Glad you were able to stop by EHF5 :) I know...all the other have filled up rather quickly. I'm surprised I was able to comment on those, with my working at night and not having access to this site most of the time and all. ;)

The only real problem I have with Anakin (actually, I have two) is that:

That's so true, too. Han is the "bad boy" of the OT...but I almsot prefer Luke for the reasons you mentioned, Master Andy. :x He's a "bad boy/scoundrel" in disguise ;)

I do like the name...and it flows well. However...I agree with Master Andy that LILWA "fits" more with what's going on here. Meditate on this...we will. ;)

Glad you enjoyed it. I know, the thingis old, but still, you can never have enough cute pictures of Ana..er... I mean Hayden. What's wierd though is that I never realy liked him in AOTC. Not enough of that bad boy thing and he was too winny, but then came ROTS, and he completely won me over in the first half of the film . The second half I spent crying for him to not kill the younglings.

Agreed again...he was whiny. But, he hadn't "matured" enough yet ;) And agree on the ROTS thing...I just couldn't stop watching him the first time I saw the movie...and I also cried during the second half, after his "turn"--it was just so tragic.

His beautiful eyes that are like two sparkling pools that you could drown in.

His luscious lips that are sooooo tempting.

His soft and slightly curled hair.

His wonderful, absolutely, GORGEOUS body. Phew! It's hot in here.
