LFCC: What happened to the world record breaking attempt?
At the London Film and Comic Con this year, it was announced that a world record breaking attempt was going to take place, the record being the biggest crowd of people wearing Star Wars costumes in the same place.

The convention came and went, but we never really heard about any such attempt - I was there (not donning a costume of any kind since I'm not a cosplayer) and I didn't notice anything. I guess they called off the whole thing, probably because not enough people showed up in Star Wars costumes, and one wonders why they even had the idea of trying such a thing in London when Star Wars Celebration Japan was taking place at the very same time. It would make more sense to try such a thing over there. Anyway, I guess it just goes to show how much the LFCC people still have to learn in terms of planning and organization, the con - interesting, exciting and informative though it was - being characterized by terrible organization.

Especially the talks were badly organized and executed. Not by the speakers present, but by the organizers. A shame, because among the speakers were Terry English, Patrick Stewart, a host of Indiana Jones actors, a group of Aliens actors, Pete Postlethwaite, British indie comic book artists, and Jason Mewes. The talks themselves were informative, but due to bad organization and lack of experience with Q&A management, the LFCC-crew in charge of the talks caused the overall experience and quality to fall to a below-standard level.

And what a shame about the Star Wars world record breaking attempt which either took place unnoticed or didn't even take place at all. Maybe if they do it next year, making sure there's no official Star Wars con taking place at the same time, it'll work better. In all fairness, they still need a lot of experience in the LFCC-crew, and I am positive that they will learn from their mistakes and that things will improve every year, which is why I'll probably go next year.
