Battle of the Fictitious Metals:
Which would win: adamantium or naqahdah?

It's time for all you Star Wars fans to show that you're just as geeky, no matter what galaxy you're in. So, I bring before you a question of extreme triviality: If Marvel's adamantium and Stargate's naqahdah got into a fight, which would win?

Of course, the first issue that must be addressed is how two fictitious metals could fight each other at all. One possibility is that we could determine which one is more useful, but that wouldn't be a fair fight since naqahdah is good for building gates, powering generators and all sorts of other stuff, while all adamantium is good for is being well nigh indestructible. Also, this is a fight, not a popularity contest.

A more practical way to pit these metals against each other involves utilizes each of their strengths. Adamantium is nearly indestructible and naqahdah can cause some first class destruction. To test these forces against each other, we could put a naqahdah reactor on overload inside an adamantium box. As for the results of such a test, that would depend on the type of adamantium used. If it is the secondary adamantium used by cheap-a$$ super-villains, it would be vaporized. A box made of true adamantium would survive. It might be a little banged up, but it would survive. If it was a sphere instead of a box, it would be the classic problem of an irresistible force meeting an immovable object. And woe to the person who uses a molecular rearranger to crack this Egg of Doom.

But, it is a moot point, since both metals are fictitious and could never come into contact in the first place.
