Getting ready for work this morning, I caught a cool ad slipped in between my kid's morning ritual of Blue's Clues and Miss Spider's Sunny Patch -- a Popsicle "superhero" figure with cape and tights pitching the pops in the context a 1950's Japanese sci-fi flick. The colors are muted, and the costumes are deliciously campy.

Wouldn't it be cool if a fan film could spin Star Wars this way? Imagine the costumes-Luke and Han in spandex tights, Vader with gizmos-a-buzzing and whirring about his costume, and Chewbacca-oh man, think of the man-in-fur-suit costumes from Star Trek. The spin could be that Lucas actually drew inspiration from a little-known fifties B-movie, recently surfacing in a collector's archive. Ed Wood's lost film or something.

Anyway, just throwing that out there. Would be cool, no?
