When Bonnie gave me the heads up on the fantastic Japanese Vader flirting with kogals poster
http://blogs.starwars.com/bonniegrrl/52 last week, I rediscovered why the Japanese are downright brilliant when it comes to using pop culture icons in unexpected, amusing ways.
For those in the know, there was a great Panasonic poster campaign from the late 80s that featured several Star Wars personalities, and even George, in a whimsical series of images promoting their electronic wares. 3PO sports a laptop and butterfly net while Yoda rocks out in Walkman headphones (remember those pre-iPod days?)
Anyway, long story short, I was able to snag one of these babies still mint and unused from a seller in Japan, in the largest 3x5 foot format. Sweet. Now being allowed to post this on the empty walls of our new Presidio offices might take a bit of convincing, but I know I've already got Bonnie's vote.
