My chat thread evolution
So with the locking of The Hive, I decided to reminisce about my days in chat threads since I spend a large amount of time in them.

NM and PM's Place
This was the first chat thread that I wandered into. I was working the overnight shift at the front desk at school and it was probably 1 or 2 am and I was bored and wandering through the Cantina. I wandered across NM and PM's Place, the hot chat thread of the boards and just struck up conversation with the night crew that consisted of Kaelis, Beth, EPW, Emp, thatscoundrelsolo, Nate, Gav, etc. These first forays into the world of chat threadding had me hooked. Soon I was on more and more, and not just while working the midnight to four shift. And I was awed by meeting the all powerful Natesmama. And of course there was PaladinMatt5 and SinPrincess. Mara. DK. Lestat. Blythy. Ah Blythy and Gav. Those two had this way of twisting every little thing that I said, no matter how innocent, and making it sound that way and thus setting a new record for OOC's by a single person.

Stroup's Work Break Place
As my friendships grew with people like NM and Mirax, I crossed the chat thread barrier into Stroup's haven for slackers. I fit in almost instantly with Stroup, ob1thx1138, hippiemike, Mirax, Du, and even the occasional sightings of The Kraken and his Keeper. Eventually, betwen bouts of wrestling in slave girl outfits with Mirax in vats of Hutt slime, flirting with the hippie and just being me, I agreed to "marry" Stroup. It was the Cantina wedding of the century. NM officiated and soon I was a part of Stroup's Harem. I've been slacking there for going on 3 years now, and I don't plan on leaving any time soon

The Place
Formerly NM and PM's Place but the breakup of SinP and PM lead to PM's disappearance from the boards and so NM, being the now sole proprieter of the most famous chat thread on the boards (we were averaging one thread a week, closing out at around 9900 posts) renamed it The Place. Most of the same crowd hung out there and it was a drama free place because all the drama seemed to take place in AOT. And then for a while NM disappeared to the real world and she gave me The Place to take care of. Ya know, some people think that having a chat thread is a cool thing, but really in one of the big popular ones it's not because people bug you to be in the opening post or if it's getting close to starting a new one. At least, that's what one poster named Ben thought, though he eventually learned. Anyways, and then NM came back and I gave The Place back to her, and eventually The Place just disappeared and The Outlander Club was born.

Gorgon's Head
This was The Kraken's Chat thread for grownups. You didn't go in there unless you could hold your own and it was a huggle free zone. Sometimes it was a haven, especially when the Aussies were posting in the middle of the night and insomnia struck. I didn't spend much time in there, but the time I did was usually talking to GG or Susanne or Tresk. But then GG and GB moved and The Head was closed.

The Outlander Club
In the wake of the closing of The Place there was a mass exodus to FF with people asking to start new chat threads. The mod squad decided that yes, a chat thread was needed for the refugees to congregate in, but that they would be the ones to start all new chat threads (except T'bones, Stroup's and The Head) because there were too many people asking permission to restart AOT (home of the drama) . The Outlander Club only lasted a few threads and though the drama squad was out in full force, AOT became a favorite hangout, until JQG appealed to the mods to save The Outlander Club and it became JQG's Wretched Hive of Fun and Sillyney, aka The Hive

The Hive
The Hive started out as a refuge from drama, fairy dust and huggles. It was where the cool kids hung out and say back and just enjoyed each other's company. Unfortunately that lasted not so long. Drama soon invaded The Hive as AOT died once again. It became the chat thread of choice, even with multiple attempts to resurrect AOT for those that it would better fit. It just wasn't meant to be though and just over a year later, The Hive died. Now us Hivedwellers are homeless again, really, many of us are still originals to The Place but soon we'll find a new home.

And thus is my chat thread evolution. I don't know where I'll end up, but at least I'll always have The WBP
