 | Giving Thanks |
It's hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us again. Each year, I'm amazed at how fast time flies. Being that Thanksgiving is in a couple of days, (for those of us in America), I think it's appropriate to reflect on what I'm thankful for in my life. It may be corny, it may be cheesy, but hey, that's me.
Here we go:
1. My youngling is healthy & happy
2. My health
3. My tolerant-of-my-wife's-SW-obssession hubby
4. My family, who've been very generous, especially with their time.
5. My education
6. Freedom
7. I'm employed.
8. I have a relatively "normal" family
9. I have relatively "normal" in-laws (I've heard some horror stories, I tell ya!)
10. The Flannelled One/SW
11. The internet
12. Music
13. Kiddie play areas in malls
14. Remote controls
15. Indoor water parks
And last but not least:
These blogs and the people who contribute to them. I've made some wonderful friends on this site and found so much support and talented individuals here. This is a very special place to be.
So, thanks for indulging my sentimentality. If you'd like to comment on what you're thankful for, go for it.

Aw, what a sweet blog!
I'm thankful for so much, there is definitely enough room here to list them all. My dad always makes us go around the table before Thanksgiving dinner and say what we are each thankful for. (Mashed potatoes, turkey, and biscuits are all steaming right in front of you and looking delicious, but you can't eat them until you say what you're thankful for!)
So, in his honor, I'm thankful for an understanding family that supports me in everything from my SW obsession to my music career.
Phew! Now I can EAT!

How in the world did the holiday season sneak up on us so fast?
What a wonderful, thoughtful entry!! I, too, am thankful for much this year. One of the things I am thankful and greatful for this year is all of the new friends I have made through this site. If someone had told me a year ago that I would be blogging here and meeting people, I would have laughed at them.

Wow. Shut me down and call me Bernie if I haven't seen a happier blog then this one. My eyes started to water when I read the entry and its comments. Thanks for making it!
I'm thankful for so many things. The big three are God, my family, and friends. I'm thankful for a good school, for having a place to call home, for people who put up with me living in their home( that would be my parents), and good health. I"m also thankful for this place. It seems silly. Here we are, miles and miles and miles away from each other, on separate side of the world even, and yet I feel as comfortable here as if it was my own home. It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling I need each day.
Here's to friends
Cheers!

This is a very special place to be.
Yes, it is.
My list is way too long for the 750 characters we're allowed, so I'll keep it short and sweet:
My wonderful hubby who is almost as obsessed as I am about SW (and he puts up with my obsession! ); my two healthy children (although they're both home from school today with the flu ); two cats who are the best free entertainment there is!; great extended family; a comfortable home in which to live; a job I enjoy; last, but certainly not least, all of you with whom I've shared some meaningful, humorous moments!
Happy T-day!

I am thankful for this place and everyone too, as well as lots of other stuff. I get a little torn on the premise of the Thanksigiving holiday concerning Native American issues and the commercialism and consumption, but still it's good to have a reminder to be thankful. We should do it everyday!

I'm thankful for so much. one, for being an American and having all these great freedoms, and with that, all the brave men and women fighting overseas for these freedoms! For my family, though sometimes the irritate the poodoo out of me, my healthm the roof over my head, food to eat, the clothes on my back. There are so many souls out there that don't have a the little things we take for granted. And of course, I'm thankful for StarWars! And for knowing all of you!

I get a little torn on the premise of the Thanksigiving holiday concerning Native American issues and the commercialism and consumption
Understood. I try to think of it as a time to remember what we take for granted. As for consumption, just remember that calories don't count on holidays.
(((HUGS)))
There are so many souls out there that don't have a the little things we take for granted.Thank you for mentioning that. It's so sad, and I have great respect for the volunteers who help make holidays special for those in need. I contribute food and clothing, but I feel like I should be doing more.
