"Don't be 'that guy'!"
If you've ever been out in public (and that should apply to about 90% of you out there) you've all encountered 'that guy'. He takes many forms, sometimes 'that guy' shows up at a wedding in jeans, acid washed denim shirt, and a tie. Sometimes 'that guy' wears a band t-shirt to that bands concert. Sometimes 'that guy' is at a sporting event wearing a jersey, but it isn't of either team competing. Very often 'that guy' is the inappropriately old guy at a bar full of college students in his best 80's swinging clothes reeking of aqua velva. 'That guy' shows up with frightening regularity at "rock n bowl" and requests that the DJ play Billy Squire. -as an aside, 'that guy' always gets the lane next to me. No matter how many open lanes there are-- Sometimes 'that guy' finds other 'that guys' and they form some amorphous 'that guy' borg. Which is the only explanation for any event advertised as happening on "SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!" Basically 'that guy' thinks that he is still "hip and with it" even though he was probably never all that cool to begin with.
I have become what I once mocked with great glee (as recently as the last paragraph). Without thinking I grabbed one of my favorite shirts out of the closest this morning, put it on and proceeded with my day. I had to stop to get gas and the guy behind the counter, who I would say was about 19, said to me, "Pearl Jam, huh, are they still around?" All I could think to reply was "best live band I've ever seen". I then paid and left. As I sat back down in my car, I looked down on my shirt and saw that it said:
Pearl Jam

I am 'that guy'
