I've wanted an FX lightsaber since the moment they came on the market: a Luke Skywalker FX lightsaber from ANH to be precise. I've come very close to receiving it too. Two years ago I was supposed to get it for Christmas but the order was back-logged and eventually cancelled. I have a chance again to order it, but I wonder if it is worth it. Obviously, it is a very cool toy but that's it, it's only a toy. It has no essential use and chances are that it will probably stay in my closet until I pull it out for a convention. I suppose if I had a place to put it on display that would at least be something, but I don't. No matter how cool a toy might be or how much you think you want it, is it worth getting just so that it can collect dust?
Those of you who own FX lightsabers (or those who don't) what are your thoughts?
