What about Obi-Wan's name? When Obi-Wan meets the adolescent Luke for the first time in A New Hope, Luke tells him R2-D2 belongs to an Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kenobi anwers him with the words: "I haven't gone by the name Obi-Wan since oh, before you were born." (or something like that).

What bothers me is that after Luke is born in Revenge of the Sith, he does NOT change his name to Ben Kenobi (not even in the novel, which is a lot more expansive).

Is it because Obi-Wan went in hiding that he hasn't gone by that name or is this just one of the discrepancies in the series that we will have to live with?
