As some of you may know, I pretty much never miss a Star Wars novel or comic book (though I occasionally fall behind in reading the novels...still haven't gotten to
Darth Bane,
Allegiance, or
Republic Commando). And I had heard that there would be a fairly big-deal moment at the end of issue fifteen of the
Legacy comics, so I was frustrated to find that both of the comic book shops in town were all out of that one by the time I came around! I went into spoiler-avoidance lockdown for a few days, until I finally got ahold of a copy and started reading.
After a bit, I reached the end of the comic. Was I impressed by the big reveal in the story? Well, yes. But as I turned the page to read the latest letters to the editor, I came upon a second suprise - looking back at me from the letters page was a picture of our own
Grand Admiral Sean8, photographed on the floor of Celebration IV in his great Cade Skywalker costume! Also looking back at me was
Summer, who I didn't get to talk to at the convention, but made an impression in her Darth Talon get-up. Turning to the next page of letters, I was again pleasantly surprised to read one from our very own
brooklooineghost, who I disappointingly missed meeting at the big Bloggers Meet & Greet. I guess what I'm getting at here is that seeing people I knew was a nice offset to the darker tone of the story I had just finished reading.
On a seperate note, today was the birthday of
Leah Mangue, longtime awesome member of the online Star Wars community, and more recently, a
licensed Star Wars sketch-card artist! Happy birthday, Leah!
Finally, for anyone who's wondering, I have returned from my travels, and I'm working on putting the finishing touches on the second half of my Celebration IV blog. I'll probably write a little bit about my travels as well. No promises about when, but it's fairly high on my to do list.
Peace!
