Trak Nar's Creature Shop
Welp, earlier today, I went out and bought some costume supplies. Tomorrow, I'm gonna set up my Creature Shop and get working. I don't have all the materials I need yet (still gotta get gloves), but I wanna at least get started with some paint apps to the mask I just bought. So what costume am I building?

Trak Nar, the Ramblin' Rodian... in Jedi garb.

The design may go through a few changes as it makes the jump from sketch to costume as I'm having some trouble getting some of the materials I need and I really don't wanna hafta rely solely on eBay and other online places if I don't have to.

Anywho, costuming and design is kinda a hobby of mine. I enjoy designing and building costumes, and this one's gonna be the most sewing-extensive of the costumes I've built. I usually work with armour designs as it's segmented and easier to construct, and the materials which I can make 'em with are easier (and cheaper) to get. Though for this one... I dunno if duck tape's gonna be used much...

If I can't find the gloves I need, duck tape may come outta semi-retirement, though.

Anywho... if this costume's a success, I'm wearing it to Ohayocon. Hope to see some people there!

Sweet! Not only are the sketches excellent of course, but I love the idea/design. Geeze - I would hope you don't need to resort to eBay. Yuk. Hardware stores and thrift shops can come in very handy in times like these. Even though it's sewing intensive, it looks very draped, which should be pretty easy to put together in simple pieces. Heavy weight Indian muslin usually makes good robe material, and it comes in all the natural colors.

Please keep us up to date on your progress and post any pictures you might grab along the way! :)

Most of the pics I take will prolly be taken with my phone and therefore not be of the best quality, but I'll keep a record of my progress. ^^

I agree. It would be great to watch your costume develop through the different stages--the quality of the pics don't have to be great.:D

Actually, if I can't find any gloves, I may be using duck tape again to fashion some. In fact, I'll just do that; make the gloves with duck tape, cheap suction-cups from a hardware store, and some garden gloves. It'll work.
