The Subservient Senate
A question that has been bothering me ever since I read Dark Lord by James Luceno was how Princess Leia protected herself against Lord Vader and The Emperor?

At first I thought well maybe their was Yalsimiri or whatever there called at the palace of Aalderan, but this could not be because if Vader had sensed the Yaslimiri then wouldln't Mr. Luceno have said that in his latest book. And there was no mention of any force dampenig technology anywhere there in the palace.

Another variable which comes into play would be that as an infant Leia would not have been able to control any uses of the force. For Instance as a baby during Lord Vader's first visit to the Palace wouldn't he have noticed the father daughter bond between them? If the force was as strong with Leia as Yoda commented then Vader had to have felt something.

So lets say that nobody notices her acute ability in the force and she grows up just the way we've known her to have. During her role in the Imperial Senate wouldn't the Emperor know that she was there. I mean we are talking about one of the most powerful men in the galaxy and he can't even detect Leia who is standing just meters in front of him? Now critics might say that well she hasn't had any experience in the force but that dosen't matter because even a force sensative being who has not had practice using the force can get breif "burst" of force energy.

The only way that I can see that both the Empereror and Vader to have missed Leia was that a huge shrowd of dark energy covered her unintentional use of the force. Or they were both so preocupied at the time that neither noticed what had happened.

So now what do you think?
