Well after watching Mace's death my friend and I have created a conspiracy theory to top all concpiracy theories. Nothing beats this. (Paul and I are watching ROTS right now finishing the new trilogy as part of the Star Wars marathon event of the year.
So hear is paul and his insane theory:
Hey I'm Paul and I would just like to say that Mace Windu did not die in the scene where he loses his arm and is thrown out of the window of Palpatine's office. Mace Windu is probably the most powerful Jedi on the Jedi council. This is shown by the fact that he is the only Jedi able to defeat Palpatine in a lightsaber duel. The other three Jedi masters present at the attempted arrest of the chancelor died within the first moments of the battle, further emphasizing how powerful and completely awesome Mace is since he wins the duel, and would have destroyed the last of the sith if not for the intervention of Anakin(that fool). Not even Yoda has the ability to do what Mace does and defeat Palpatine, as is demonstrated during the duel in the senate chamber. Therefore, Mace certainly could not have been killed by the lightning or his fall.
First of all, the force lightning blast was not sustained long enough to kill Mace Windu. He is never silenced during the blast, showing that the blast obviously didn't kill him. The only other event that could have killed Mace was his fall out of the window. It is my theory that he did not die from this fall. Instead he landed oin an open taxi or airspeeder. This is not such a crazy idea: think of how many times this happened during episodes II and III. First of all Obi-Wan fell during the chase with Zan Wessel, but he landed in Anakins airspeeder. Later during this chase, Anakin jumped from his airspeeder, and fell many stories before landing on Wessel's speeder, without injury. Even Yoda joins in the speeder jumping fun when he jumps into Organa's speeder after escaping the senate chamber. Therefore, it is not a far stretch to say that Mace landed safely in an airspeeder.
After surviving the fall, Mace Windu met up with Obi-Wan and Yoda on Polis Massa, where he recieved medical attention and a new mechanical arm to replace the one that Anakin(that fool) chopped off. He then followed the example of Yoda and Obi-Wan and went into exile. Yoda went to Dagobah, Obi-Wan went to Tatooine, and Mace went to Dantooine where he went into hiding living as a hermit for many years. Later on, he continued to affect the course of galaxy by aiding in the birth of the rebellion, and leading the rebels on their base on Dantooine. This base is mentioned in episode IV as being an actual major base of operations for the rebellion, that is abandonned before the Empire discovers its presence. In conclusion, Mace Windu, most powerful member of the Jedi Council, did not die as widely believe. Instead he lived on to extend his legacy of being completley awesome and being the only Jedi cool enough to wield a purple lightsaber.
