Now, we all have heard of the supposed brutality and just how scary stormtroopers can be. In the beginning of Episode IV they board and decimate Rebels. They missed quite a Bit. But then again, they had the "low" ground, having to crawl through a door. That'll pass. But then, when Luke, Leia and crew are on the Death Star, something changes. Stormtroopers suddenly become life sized moving targets. Somehow, they manage to miss them every time. Han even manages to escape from a whole platoon.
-When Chewbacca is being used as an excuse to gain entry to the Detention block, he makes a sudden attack on a Navy Trooper. It takes exactly 6 seconds for the other of the two Navy Troopers to respond, and Luke and Han don't even target him first. This is the first illogical thing. If this had been a real recruit, fire would have ensued at the most, 3 seconds after. Lethal kills can be made with direct contact through stormtrooper armor, and the Navy trooper is at most 10 m away from Chewie. Least to say, Chewie should have been hit at least once by the Navy Trooper. Now Wookies are known for their strength and resilience, and I'm sure a Wookie like Chewbacca, in his prime, would survive one shot, but he would now be injured. Another two troopers are apparently on the other side of the control console, and if Han and Luke are so in depth in shooting the cameras, Chewie would probably die. Luke and Han could probably make it, as they have a higher belief rating as there are dressed up. Now the group pushes on with Chewie dead. Chewie, being Han's life partner, is depressed beyond belief, and breaks down. A voice over the speaker sounds, and in Han's anger he blasts it. Luke tries to comfort him, but soon a crackling is heard as troops began to destroy the door. Luke tells Han that they must move on or Chewie's sacrifice will be for nothing.
-When the stormtroopers break through the detention cell door, it should be straighter and more precise with room for a stormtrooper to step through easily, unlike the previous cut, which resulted in the death of two or so many troopers, and was very unprofessional. Han and Luke only have time for a couple shots, maybe killing the first stormtrooper before retreating to the depths of the passage. The stormtroopers should lay suppressing fire for 2-4 troops to move into similar positions, hiding beside the supports. Han, Luke, and Leia, take cover, and wait for a lapse in fire. Leia bursts open the sewage filter, and they dive in. The stormtroopers move into a position around the grate but don't fire. One trooper speaks into his comm., telling the squad to move off. Moments later the walls began moving, and Luke dials up R2, telling him to shut down the Detention Cell Trash Compactors. He then tells them to open the door, and they walk out. Han leans against the wall and slides down, still shocked at Chewie's death.
-Han, Leia, and Luke come down from the upper observation area, and run into a squad of stormtroopers. Luke and Han with the element of surprise take down two of them, and start running off down the corridor as they get chased. Getting chased into another squad, they move down a side corridor.
-They run up to the edge of an unextended bridge, and shut the door. Blasting the controls to hold the door, they are trapped. More troops appear at another bridge, and fire starts trading off. The stormtroopers and their armor allow only one to one and half a person to fire at a time, and Luke and Han manage to cut down two of them. The stormtrooper, deciding to cut their losses, move on to a different route. The stormtroopers behind the group start to open the door, and it takes some time. Luke and Han use their grappling hooks to pull themselves over, Han holding Leia. They shut the door on the other side and continue.
-Upon reaching the ship, they see troops guarding it all around. Suddenly they leave post, as Vader and Kenobi appear, dueling. Han, Leia, R2, and C-3PO sneak to the ship, but Luke cries out. The stormtroopers instantly turn around, and drop to no cover positions, low to the ground. Luke fires on the, taking out one, and is clipped in the shoulder by a blast. Only being 3 m from the ship, he ducks low and races into the ship, getting clipped yet again in the heel. He trips onto the ship, moaning. Leia drags him into the med bay. Luke complains about Kenobi, but Han tells him that Kenobi isn't planning on leaving. The engine preps, and takes off. Luke hears Kenobi in his head telling him do not worry, I will be with you. Vader strikes down Kenobi.
-The total amount of fighters used by the Imperials should be somewhat equivalent to 72 fighters, plus Vader and his wingmen. More ships should be attacking the Rebels, around two TIEs per X-Wing/Y-Wing. Rebels lose ships fast, and Han comes, he misses Vader, but takes heavy fire, and plummets toward the canyon. Falling in he scrapes up against the wall, and flinging out into space. Vader is forced to pull out or hit Han, Luke fires and destroys the Death Star.
Now with that revisison, is still does allow a lot of room for the unrealism, mainly in the space battle, but its closer. How do you think people would have reacted to this version of Star Wars versus the real one?
