The Reality of Star Wars

Star Wars Today
Well, here we are. Episode 3 has come out (almost a year ago) and the big question is: "What now, Mr. Lucas?" Of course, the answer comes out, "well, there are the TV shows." Great, but what then? "Well, Star Wars lives forever." Ok, great. What does that mean? Anyone?... I'd like to offer an answer.

You open a book, (I won't mention names due to copyright problems,) and you see the main character making fun of her sister because she still wears pajamas with little Yoda's on it. Or you find someone who mentions that someone became much easier to tease ever since they decided to become a Jedi Knight when they grew up. Ok, so they're the same book. The point remains, however, that Star Wars is one of those things that you just can't remember when you first heard about it. I know I can't. Yes, I remember the first time I saw the movies (ESB, in the basement of my friends' house [yes, plural. 2 friends.]), but I already knew about it then. I remember someone getting the Lego sets (before I watched the movies) but I still knew about it. So it wasn't the movies, it wasn't the Legos, so what was it? I have no idea. And tel me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure a lot of other people feel the same way. And it's this that keeps Star Wars alive. This aspect of, "it's part of America just as much as Hot Dogs and ice cream". The fact that we don't need movies, TV shows, or the like, (not that I'm against them,) we just need good old, traditional, Star Wars.
