This year the Fairfield County Fair (in Lancaster, OH) runs Oct. 5-11. Last year I entered one exhibit, a small collection of my Jerry Lewis items. This year I plan to enter three:
A collection of my pin-back buttons. Most of these buttons come from the 1970's and 1980's, with a few from earlier and later, in the pin collection I have items from: Peanuts (i.e., Snoopy, etc.), Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, Star Wars, Columbus Zoo, E. T., President George W. Bush, Ice Capades and Ewoks, The Monkees, The Dukes of Hazzard, Return of the Jedi, and The Sixth Sense.
I am also entering a collection of Jerry Lewis items again. This year I hope to have more items of various kinds.
My last entry will be a collection of crystals and minerals. These are rough, natural crystals, not wine glasses or anything like that. If I trusted the security of the place more I might trust my meteorite in this collection, but I don't.
If you're in Ohio try to stop by the Fair at least one day during that week. Sunday is FREE admission (so it will be horribly busy). I believe Wednesday this year is the band day, where several high school bands perform. They let school out in Fairfield County for the day.
I'm looking forward to it. However, I have had some health concerns lately and I'm not sure how much walking I can do anymore. I can walk, but if I attempt to walk at any pace for a certain amount time I get chest pain.
