Star Wars Favorites
Favorite alien...Wookiee
Noble, strong, fierce, and friendly. Wookiees are a winning combination and, let's face it, most of us grew up wishing we had a best friend with the same qualities: Someone who would stick with us, be friendly, but help us in a fight.

Favorite droid...R5-D4
Hey, why do people like Boba Fett? "Because he looks cool." I feel the same way about R5-D4. However, yes, I do appreciate See Threepio and Artoo-Detoo and I had C-3POs cerial when I was growing up (so no "you jerk" comments please).

Favorite civillian...Han Solo
OK, he doesn't stay a civillian for long, but Han was always the "Hawkeye" Pierce ("M*A*S*H" reference) of "Star Wars". In other words, he was always a civillian in military fatigues.

Favorite planet...Bespin
Prior to the Prequels I would have said "Tatooine", but I saw TOO MUCH of that place in the Prequels. Bespin is a good pick because it is not a "military" planet. In other words, Lando was not a political person and really wasn't trying to aid the Alliance or the Empire. His citizens were not armed and had no obligations to either side. In other words, we got to see a little bit of "normal life" in GFFA.

Favortie royalty...Princess Leia
Yes, I like Padme. However, what Padme did in words, Leia did in action. I think the best way is to act with words and deeds. As Leia grew older (from "A New Hope" to "Jedi") we saw her learn to be both strong and tender; a tightrope that all leaders (of either gender) struggle to do.

Favorite Alliance leader...Mon Mothma
It's a tough call. Admiral Ackbar is great. I don't know why he didn't get his own TV series. Ackbar is always calm, maybe all Mon Calarami are, but even when he said: "It's a trap!" one could have thought he was on traquilizers. I guess I envy that kind of emotional control. Nevertheless, Mon Mothma wins because I am attracted to strong women and I would likely NEVER vote for a fish.

Favorite Imperial agent (non-soldier/non-leader)...Death Star Droid
Yes, this gave me a chance to vote for another robot. Death Star Droids also look cool. They remind most people of a teacher they didn't like: slender with cold eyes. It is rumored that Death Star Droids were hard pressed to get dates.

Favorite catina patron...Ithorian
I did it again...this time, I voted for another alien. Ithorians fascinate me. If Lucas ever made "Star Wars 7" and it consisted of watching an Ithorian blink I would see it fifty times. They only had a very brief cameo in Episode I (and, of course, Episode IV)

Favorite bounty hunter...Greedo
IG-88 looks like a moisture vaporator and Boba Fett is a fat guy in suit. Greedo's eyes look like buttons and he wears an orange vest. My choice was obvious. I LOVE YOU, GREEDO!

Favorite kind of trooper...Storm
Storm Troopers served in Episodes 4-6 and look good in every climate. Snow Troopers are a little too bulky and Scouts rode on those annoying speeders (too much noise for me).

Favorite Jedi...Luke Skywalker
Get over yourself if you think he wasn't the greatest Jedi of all.

Favorite evil person...The Emperor
I hate to use "favorite" and "evil person" together, but he sends a chill up my spine that Jabba couldn't do with a block of ice and after twenty-three years of programming it is difficult to think of Vader as "truly" evil.

Favorite droid duo...C 3PO and R2 D2
I hope you're happy now. I think their best film together was "Jedi", with "New Hope" and "Phantom Menace" being their other good ones. I liked them both in "Empire" but they were pretty much solo. We'll not even talk about AOTC.

Favorite starship...The Millennium Falcon
I was really hoping Ben Kenobi was the original owner of the Millennium Falcon so we could have it in the Prequels
