There was some confusion as to if I was male or female in my last blog (http://blogs.starwars.com/rive/9/comments which is far more interesting than this blog btw). So I thought I'd lay everything out today. (For the 2 or 3 people out there who may or may not care )

Rive Caedo: Male.
Rive - Pronounced easily by remembering it rhymes with "Wretched hive of scum and villainy"
Meaning - To separate or pull apart by force: rend, rip, run, split, tear.

Caedo - Pronounced "Kai-Doe" (note: In Latin it's pronounced "Chay-Doe" but I prefer "Kai-Doe")
Meaning (Latin) - To die or to fall.

The name was originally taken from the fan film "Duality" (www.crewoftwo.com) where-in one of the Sith apprentices was named "Lord Rive". I wanted an online moniker that would be identifiable to Star Wars fans, but not to non-fans. So for a long time I went as "Lord Rive".

Unfortunately it seems quite a few fans had this idea, so after awhile I decided I should add a surname to make the name unique to me and stop having to be annoyed by the name already being registered on AIM, hotmail, etc.)

You'd be surprised how few names sound good after "Rive" .

After much searching through Latin words I found "Caedo" and "To Kill or To Fall" seemed PERFECT as a Star Warsy last name, especially as "Darth Caedo" (A murderous Sith Lord, or Fallen Jedi). In addition as Rive Caedo it can be taken as "To rip apart death" a fairly good Light Jedi Crusader name.
