Entry 385
First up, why is this labeled Entry 385 instead of 110?

I found it rather amusing that our Managing a Blog Guide states...

"Each blog is allocated a portion of server space. The current limits should allow each blogger to post around 500 entries, depending on length."

Soooo we take my current amount of used space (77%) and multiply it by the 500... And if I was an "Average" blogger then this would be entry 385 or so. Luckily the PLB knows better. :)

Speaking of the PLB, check out Luuke's "Concert Night" poem! Over on the Official PLB off-site blog. I think it includes the name of every certified PLB writer :D

Now a mod fairly recently mentioned that there were some changes coming down the blog pipeline. We've been hearing that for awhile though (Spell-check anyone?) so I'm taking matters into my own hands.

Could I just delete my old entries? Sure I could, but I like the idea of people being able to go back and read rambling complaints about the rush of Free Trial blogs and thoughts on the Star Wars TV Show long before any news was announced. It's like a history textbook for completely useless information!

So instead I'll be taking these preventative measures to ensure the rest of my space is wisely used.

● First up, the letter "E" has been deemed expendable. By cutting it out of future entries I save about 14% of space per entry.

● Actually, no more vowels period: Tht'll sv 35% fr sre. Y cn rd ths, rght?

● Three-Line Blog Thursdays!

Example: "I think that Count Dooku looked pretty shocked when Palpatine told Anakin to kill him. That was really cool! Also, Anakin should have kept the Dooku's lightsaber since he's always losing his anyway, it would have been useful when General Grievous took his! Comments plz!"

● Stupid Question Sundays:

Example: "Why didn't Yoda use his lightsaber in Episode V? That would have been so cool!"

● Common words such as "The, and, but, for, what, when, where, how, Purple, Lightsaber, and Anikiaan" will no longer be used, you can usually guess where they're supposed to go anyway.

Example: "_____ ________ came into ___ room ___ Mace Windu was holding his________ ________ up to Palpatine. ___ was it that color? I mean ________'s ________ was blue. Obi-Wan's ________ was blue. Yoda's ________ was green! ___ did Mace Windu have a ________ ________?!"

● And lastly, emoticons will now constitute full paragraphs that are too long for anyone to want to read anyway.

Example: "So I was thinking the other day about Star Wars. I had this very interesting thought. B-) :) :D :p :(. Pretty interesting don't you think?!? It completely changes my view of the saga and turns JarJar into my #2 favorite character of all time. My favorite character is Plo Koon because of that mask he wears."
__________________________________

And there you have it! With a few simple steps I can have the recommended 390 entries to go!

Or maybe I'll just wait around and hope those changes hit soonish and include some extra space... It's just text, how hard can it be for Lucas Co. to keep a bit extra online :p

Mini Entry 410
Insider 87, Page 6.

Sorry if anyone has already mentioned this...

On page 6 of Insider 87, the first page of real content, the question is asked...

"In Return of the Jedi during the celebration on Coruscant at the end, I heard one of those death cries you hear when a guy falls from something high. Why is this?"

The answer from Insider is then...

"That distinctive "death cry" you heard is in fact the same one you've heard in many other movies, including every film in the Star Wars saga and even the Star Wars Holiday Special..."

Doing good so far! Even mentioning the fact that is was used in the dreaded Holiday Special, I had forgotten that.
But then...

"... We don't know why it's used during a celebration of all things"

....

Well I certainly won't be sending in any questions to Insider now :p
A probable answer is plain as day.

So maybe you've already seen it, maybe you haven't. So you can either trust me on this or you can queue up your 2004 DVD edition of Return of the Jedi to 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 4 seconds into the film.

There's a stormtrooper (many in fact, but only one that's noticeable without going frame by frame) being tossed around in the crowd. Not in a pleasant way mind you.

So there's the source of your final Wilhelm scream in the saga, a stormtrooper getting attacked by a crowd.

Mini Entry 457
Christopher Lee is stalking me.

So first Mr. Lee showed in Lord of the Rings I. Fine, no problem. Then I got my first hint of his nefarious plan to stalk me when he showed up in Star Wars II as well. Then he showed up as expected in Lord of the Rings II. Then he DIDN'T show up in Lord of the Rings III... I thought I was safe from his following me then... But no, THEN he shows up in the Extended Edition DVD version of Lord of the Rings III. At that point I was sure he would stop at nothing to chase me down. Indeed that was proven when I briefly tried out the Everquest II video game and he showed up as the voice of the evil leader of Freeport.. It was another role that fit him, but I left without delay anyway. After showing up in Star Wars III he lay low for awhile. I thought it was finally over.

Again I was wrong. The film legend would not leave me be! I settle down for a fun romp through the "Fan-fiction in motion" videogame, Kingdom Hearts II this week.... I watch as in a cut scene a robed man speaks... I knew I recognized that voice... But I didn't want to admit it. So I continued to play until again the same voice rose up again. There was no denying it this time. Mr. Lee would go as far as talking to Mickey Mouse in the video game to stalk me!

:D

I'm putting Christopher Lee talking to Mickey Mouse on my list of "Top 20 Greatest Things of All Time".

Very very very amusing!:^O :^O

Good, luck though--with your being shorthanded in the blog cycle. I agree. You should sould start making cuts. Your blogs can get to be pretty lengthy, but I enjoy reading 'em! Hope you get this problem fixed!:D According to the "managing a blog" thing, I'm at #25, but I'm really only at #20.

Your blogs can get to be pretty lengthy, but I enjoy reading 'em!

I can't avoid feeling guilty if I post something under 300 words or so (This was 1065 for a point of comparison) because I don't like shoving people down further on the "Recent Entries" list otherwise, they might not have a steady stream of readers...
I suppose I could have made the Christopher Lee tangent a full blog... In fact. I just might do that. "Christopher Lee is Stalking Me: Special Edition!" :)

Well, I've taken up three consecutive spots. Rive, please feel free to delete.

I just want to know why some people (Rive) are getting their Insiders already and mine always comes 2 months after the online supplement is put on the website. I fully expect to get mine at the end of May beginning of June. WHY!

Rive...Now don't get scared or anything, but Christopher Lee is stalking you in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, too. And what's worse? He plays...a dentist...and Willy Wonka's father to boot. Frightening, I know.

That's my own, personal favorite Christopher Lee moment...even above that look on Dooku's face just before Anakin lops his head off...

Funny blog entry...

Well I certainly can't sleep in peace. Christopher Lee could be waiting for that! :p

Holy dog mess, I've never seen that.

I've updated the entry to include a picture of the poor stormtrooper in question. Contrast and such have been enhanced.

Well, I've taken up three consecutive spots. Rive, please feel free to delete.

Meh, my entries are rarely controversial enough to hit 50 comments anyway, I'm no Vicomte :p

Though once it reaches HBO I'll get hit again by Lee I suppose :)

Rive Caedo, we meet again, twice the pride, double the fall...............

This entry has suddenly made me very aware of my blog mortality. From now on, no more punctuation, underlines, bolds, italics, emoticons, or capital letters for me. If only I could limit my entries to two lines..............

Meh, my entries are rarely controversial enough to hit 50 comments anyway, I'm no Vicomte

The trick is to never post a follow-up, keeps 'em comin' back for more.

This is just pure poodoo from my POV. WE need more SPACE to type nothing or something or whatever...Jeez.

Speaking of the PLB, check out Luuke's "Concert Night" poem!

Yep, I did, and I'm listed as drinking grape soda? What's up with that? I hate grape soda. What about a beer or cosmo or even a cola...But grape soda? Luuke where are you, I need a word with you about this...

Funny, funny blog my dear friend Rive.

Will there be a "Longest Run-On Sentence" category during Three-Line Thursdays, or is shortness what we're looking for? I'm pretty good with the run-ons.

Oh cool... do I see Mad Libs?

I'm there with you on the SW Insider answer. When I read the part about not knowing why the scream was there, I immediately thought, "Haven't you seen the stormtrooper being tossed around by the crowd?" At least hundreds of fans are going to write in and correct them, I'm sure!

Kudos! You probably would have caught the original version of the title being a reference to The Simpsons, I was going to call it "The 338th Entry Spectacular!"

I've used up 24% of my space and haven't even hit number 40. That's what I get for the wordiness. Does comment space count? If not, I can just continue the blog in the comment space, thus preserving my precious space -- no one ever gets up to 50 comments, anyway.

I was wondering about comment space too. Im at number 20 and have used more than 30 percent. Im extra wordy I guess. Maybe its the heavy usage of the Caedo Line, or the gazillion links too.

According to Dark Moose (and some personal tests of mine), comments don't use space. I'm wondering though... What about blog images? Would be odd... But possible.

Caedo Lines actually detract from your overall used space. One of their many many uses. Handy things they are :D

Maybe I'm rehashing an age-old idea... but if all else fails, you should sign up for Hyperspace under a different name (RiveCaedo1138? :p), hence getting a spanking-new space limit. So far as I know, inactive blogs are not erased from the grand database, so all your previous work shall live on.
