Hyperspace Prez 2006

Do I like this contest and the spam it brings? Of course I don't. It's there though, so we're all going to need to deal with it... For another month or so. (Then again in 2007 most likely... D'oh!)

Here's what the "election" winner gets.

* the title of President of The Official Star Wars Fan Club for one year

* an expense-paid trip to San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2006 and participation in Star Wars events at the convention (includes airfare, hotel, and full event admission)

* a guest-editor position for an issue of Star Wars Insider magazine

* a personal profile printed in Star Wars Insider magazine

* VIP status on starwars.com

* a Star Wars collectibles gift package

* and more...

Spam and such should not equal VIP status and a place of honor in Star Wars Insider.

If I had Emperor-like authority in the matter then I'd probably throw a few hundred referrals the way of a PLB member and be done with it. Alas, I don't. So it's almost doubtless that one of the current two leaders will win.

All things considered... I'd far far far prefer Dustin. His campaign is friendly and he's an upstanding member of the Star Wars community over at rebelscum and such.
